Make splinter-free cuts and flat-bottom grooves with the Diablo 8 in. x 12-Tooth Stacked Dado Saw Blade Set. It includes a carrying case, two blades, two wing chippers and shims constructed from durable micro-grain titanium carbide for a design that is durable, strong and razor-sharp. Use these blades on 5/8 in. laser-cut arbors for accurate blade rotation.

The dado set performed perfectly and it leaves a fairly smooth bottom. The setup is straightforward and easy. The packaging is plastic and while it does keep the set together, it leaves the blades exposed and is not adequate long term.

Blades appear to work well, the two outside blades were supposed to yield a .250 dado but in fact required a .013 shim to get close, not sure what this says about the included chart which lists blade, chipper, shim combos to get various dado widths. The shims are laser marked with their thickness but the markings were hard to read. Double checked with a micrometer and marked them in permanent marker. The blades worked well and produced nice clean dado’s just be aware that you will need double check the stack width if using the included chart.

The finished dado is not perfectly flat on the bottom. It seems that the right outer blade is about 1/16″ smaller than other blade and chippers.

So far so good – processed 20 twelve foot 1×8 with a 1/2 wide 1/2 deep ship lap – have 40 more to do – oh this is ground contact treated pine – not sure it will stay sharp for all 60 boards

Great blade! Cuts clean and accurate. Setup is straight forward and dead on, meaning if you set it up for a 3/4″ dado, that’s EXACTLY what you’re going to get. I feel like the 12-tooth setup is better for my standard 110V saw.
