I hoped these Diablo plastic laminate trimming router bits, since they are coated with a supposed ‘anti stick’ treatment, would run cleaner than the Bosch and Porter cable bits I had previously owned. (I use Diablo circular saw blades and they seem to plow right through sticky green framing lumber without gumming up from sap.)Nope. After trimming the Formica from the edge of a countertop I had just laminated, the Diablo router bit was just as gummed up with accumulated contact cement as any other trimmer bit. You still need to meticulously clean the gunk off these with lacquer thinner after each pass, or they WILL burn your laminate when the guide bearing stops rolling from being clogged. But they did cost a little less than Bosch, even if they are not superior.

I think that this Diablo 3/8 in. X 1/2 in.carbide flush trimming router bit is a great product. I’ve built and installed cabinets for 20 years , in commercial cabinets there is a lot of Formica use in the process this means glue, apply and routing Formica. I used to think that a longer longer trimming router bit was better but its really not, due that for routing Formica you only use either 1/8 to 1/4 inch bottom portion of the router bit and this is where this router bit comes in place. The longer the bit the more expensive, this router bit price is perfect for me we use a lot of them and I would recommend it to everybody.
