We just used this for the first time at a big photo event for instant prints. It worked beautifully! The quality was excellent, and the prints were fast! We will definitely buy more DNP photo printers again!

Using this printer for a photobooth. Working great! Photobooth is running off mac OS El Capita 10.11 no issues, Love the 2 in cut!

Printing pictures at home up to 8×12 in size. It is very easy to use and don’t have to worry about inks. The paper is high quality and satisfactory but not exotic. Driver is good but the icc profiles do not match a calibrated monitor. They are no where close. I am still trying to figure out how to match them, even with a colormunki photo calibration kit. Still having a difficult time matching the colors but the prints themselves look wonderful. Many people use this printers as event printers for high volume printing but I am using mine for ocassional use at home. I not a professional and photography is my hobby. Printing makes it very real instead of just looking at the image on the screen. With this printer, I can print much as I want and the prints are low cost. Did I mention there is no ink to worry about! It does both matte and glossy on the same paper.

I’m by no means a big-league event photographer, however, over the past few years I’ve maintained 3-4 regularly scheduled events of 500+ attendees in which I sold on-site photos after the event. I’ve had the DS40 for nearly two years – and have put it through its paces during 14 big-group events. It hasn’t failed once. It’s true that the first event was nerve-racking, but this was mostly due to what I’d characterize as an unforgiving system. If I wasn’t playing ball the way the DS40 plays ball, then I needed to figure out how to play ball quickly. The error lights do take some time to learn by heart – and you’d certainly better have your image cropped to line up with whatever you’re using (in my case, 5X7 seems to sell better). Right after I initially received it, I was diligent to register with DNP corporate (they’re in Concord, NC). The customer service was truly impeccable. I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with an agent right after my first event – and ever since then, I knew precisely how to handle the printer in times of crisis (always user-error related). B & H’s exceptional customer service lead me to the purchase of this machine, and as always, they didn’t steer me wrong. Changing out paper and dye sublimation is very easy.

Ordered 8×12 paper this time. Will be able to print 4×8 Christmas cards 3 on a sheet in stead of 2 on a sheet. Also will be offering 8×12 Calendar pictures and collages.

This pack provides more than enough paper and ink and the quality is high. I’ll definitely reorder. Highly recommended.

I bought 2 of these printers for Hi volume printing on jobs. They work great, and fast, and have a good durability in a small but hefty package. 1) print fast 2) I have traveled from NY to LA, Chicago, Dallas and a many other city’s with the printers they hold up to air travel and ups/fed ex shipping. CONS 1) if traveling make sure you have a supply of paper or plan ahead there aren’t many dealers that supply outside of NY B&H 2) the printer seems easy to load but does take practice could be me but have troubling loading it under rushed party situations, jams are somewhat easy to fix just stay calm

A good product for any DNP Dye sublimation printer. Nice!

I’ve used HITI products for many years and was happy with it. Now I switched to DNP and I am happier 😀 !

This is a work horse,, setting up the drivers were a little awkward, but called the dnp tec support,, they were great and walked right through it, the paper must be tamped down and very flush,, if not you’ll get a small white border on the bottom of your pictures,, I am planning to get the ds80 soon!

With media kits tough to find these days, we can always rely on B&H to either have these in stock or send an alert when they become available. Shipping is always quick and reliable. Thanks B&H!

Im a professional photographer that I have to open new frontiers by my self relay only in what I read on the reviews, make some mistakes and learn from them, I use to work with another printer, and I was thinking that was a good printer, till they broke down and I have to buy another one, these time I try these DS40, and the result are superior, good quality prints, fast, and easy to work, the only thing that I mess was that I work with 5×7, and I did not realice that I have to buy separately the roles for the format.

WOW. The printer showed up 3 hours before my first of 2 contracted photo-shoots. I turned it on, connected it to Darkroom 9.2, installed the profiles, stuffed it in the case that I got for it and headed out. Freaking out the whole time. I got to the event, plugged it in, it shot that event and one the next morning without a hiccup. OMG a lifesaver. 8 seconds a print, about 14-15 if shooting RAW. Bulletproof, I love it. I’ll never regret buying this. I just threw 2 Canon Selphie’s in the garbage.

That is a great deal to our photo company. We use a lot of paper to print pictures. Good quality, good price.

Been using the DNP printers for years for onsite printing. Workhorse printer and great colors.

Not much to say. This is the 8×10 paper for the DS80 printer. High enough quality for most budget studios and on sight printing needs.

Great photo paper. Prints like a champ on the DS40. If you buy this media pack for the DS40, you have to have spool extenders. I was unaware of this when I ordered and had to wait for the extenders to come in before I could use it.
