   Using this for quick photo printing and a photo booth. It is fast, the picture quality is amazing. The machine is built like a brick. Software loading is straightforward. The paper roll and sublimation film loads easily through the front. . .it pulls out like a drawer. The media comes in rolls that provide around 400 prints, for about $. Pretty inexpensive compared to inkjet ink and paper. The only downside is that you are committed to a specific paper size. . .you can’t go larger or smaller. If you are OK with the 2×6 to 6×8, get this printer.

   We have only used this once so far, but printing was a breeze once we were able to set it up. We used it for a Photo Booth and didn’t have any issues. Definitely set it up a day in advance though so you know the parts beforehand!

   First the good news. This printer is FAST! Fastest 4×6 printer I have used. The printer is a tank. Built to withstand the road. Color as good as every dye sub I have run it against. Now the bad. Whoever said this printer is easy to load has never used a Hiti printer. I own a Hiti 510L and can tell you Hiti printers are the fastest and easiest printers to load. Not only that, the ribbons come encased inside of a plastic shell. You just slide it in and close the door. When you want to move the printer you just slide it out. DS 40 ribbons are just two spools. Good luck if you drop it while putting it in and it’s ridiculous trying to find a a decent way to store it when traveling. Hiti paper loading is just as easy. Everything is color coded and it just drops right in. They even give you the 5×7 spacers. You have to pay extra to get them from DNP. I bought this printer because of DNP’s Mobile Party Print software and though a bit buggy to set up, it seems to be working ok. If not for that software package I would probably bought another Hiti. Even though it is slightly slower, the Hiti is much easier to load and that is really important when things jam up in the middle of a gig. I am VERY concerned about many of the reviews I read about DNP paper jams. I have run thousands of prints through my 510L without a single jam or ribbon break. Only time will tell. It’s fast and built sturdy but the loading design shaves two stars off of it.

   We use this paper and ink set for photo shoots at our boutique on a daily basis. This consistently produces professional quality prints and is easy to install. It takes the guess work out of when to change ink by providing a cartridge to use hand-in-hand with each paper roll! We love the ease of use, and our customers love the high quality images they receive as part of their picture packages. Because we take so many pictures, I only wish each roll could last longer…

   I purchased this printer to replace 2 inkjet printers that I was using at events. This printer out surpass them both. The printer is so fast that, I no longer lose clients because they can’t wait. There are 2 draw backs that I have; it prints only one size at a time, and it doesn’t print from Lightroom using a Mac.
