Bought this one after buying two DS40’s. Great colour, fast, very robust build, easy to load, all good. The new Mac driver works with OSX 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, but it is a bit finicky. But you can get it to work with Lightroom and other applications. Great product.

We use this paper and ink set for photo shoots at our boutique on a daily basis. This consistently produces professional quality prints and is easy to install. It takes the guess work out of when to change ink by providing a cartridge to use hand-in-hand with each paper roll! We love the ease of use, and our customers love the high quality images they receive as part of their picture packages. Because we take so many pictures, I only wish each roll could last longer…

Product works as advertised. Had to play with color adjustments to get it printing correct colours as it was not well calibrated out of the box, but otherwise its working really well in the field. Wished that DNP sold ribbons separately as we have a lot of paper left on rolls.

The DS80 gives the great print quality I expected from a dye-sub. Color is good and the print clarity is outstanding. I had a minor example of the dust problem mentioned. Simple fix to clean it and the problem has not reoccured.

The printer is easy to work with and set up was pretty easy too. I have an older computer so I had to call to troubleshoot…they were so responsive and ready to help. The printer is fast but pretty noisy so you could never use it during a function while there is a speaker…otherwise it’s great.

I use this printer for high volume on-site printing of event photos. I use multiple printers in a pool to increase throughput, and typically print 300-400 prints per hour. The DNP is replacing another brand for two reasons: Durability – the DNP is more solid and feels like it is more durable. Ease of maintenance – The DNP does not use cartridge ribbons, which allows for clearing if they get stuck. With cartridge style printers, if the ribbon jams you pretty much have to send it to a service center. The color rendition of the DNP is a pleasant surprise – spot on right out of the box.

I purchased this printer to use at events. I set up and take photographs and print on the spot using the DNP-DS80. This printer has proven its worth with the high quality prints it produces. Not to mention it prints 8x10s in 35 seconds. This is a huge plus when you have customers standing in front of you waiting for their prints. I highly recommend this printer. I also recommend a protective case with wheels because this is a well made heavy printer.
