This is a useful and functional design but the manufacturing needs improvement. The odd shape actually works well and having a hook that can attach and be removed from an extension pole system is nice. I noticed a nice feature where the neck of the hook has two flat sides which will allow it to be gripped with a wrench in the event it gets stuck on the pole. The product label shows a force limitation of 20lbs and says the hook is made of zinc alloy. So, my first thought was “pot metal” and I then assumed the hook would be brittle and subject to being easily broken. So, I did a drop test from 6 feet onto concrete with the hook side down. Three times in a row it held up fine; so, it’s more durable than I assumed. Now for a manufacturing issue: Metal threads on the inside have sharp edges as if they were machined poorly (see photo). The sharp metal from the manufacturing issues did damage the threads on the pole when it was screwed on (see photo). Taking a metal file to the inside did correct that problem but who wants to spend time doing that? If it were not for that issue, I would give this 4 or 5 stars.

the design is good, be better if the stringer on both side of the top were a bit longer so they hold the garlands and lights better

Not very sturdy but works for Lightweight jobs

Used for hanging Christmas in a tree. What took 2 days last year was done in just a few hours. Very good construction, and works as advertised, would definitely buy again

The DocaPole pole hook is a very useful extra hand. I have a 10’ ceiling in my shop and I tend to hang things high out of the way. It is a lot easier to use than dragging the step ladder around. The hook has several features that make it work well. First, it will screw down on any standard pole and has a set screw included to prevent the head from spinning. Next, I like the shape of the top of the hook. It is formed into an M, so things will stay on the hook. Two nubs also help keep things on the hook. Finally, the hook is well made and seems good and solid.

This is a great hook.i actually bought the doca pole without any attachments and made my own hook.although it gives me great satisfaction of the accomplishment it does not quite work to my satisfaction, but this doca hook does the trick.i have a loft in my garage (see pics) where I have to clean under the loft to get to my bowes or use the hook to pull these boxes close to where I can grab them and bring them down.after opening them and removing stored pics, decorations, and ornaments I have to push(see pic) these boxes back in place with stuff that was once on our walls and now temporarily in this boxes and to be repeated after xmas.this is one of over 60 boxes so is this hook great or what.not only does it work great on boxes but alarm, telephone, internet, and surveillance wiring are a breeze pulling or pushing them through the attic .when you incorporate the doca pole not included which I believe has a 24 ft reach ,it’s a great labor saver.do things smarter not harder.

The “Big Reach” Pole Hook is perfect for putting up/taking down Christmas lights on the trees in our front yard. We have two 14′ high oaks in our front yard that we keep groomed in ball shape. It took two ladders and the whole family to wrap the lights once we got higher than we could reach from the ground. Now that I have the Big Reach Pole Hook I can do the wrapping/unwrapping without a ladder from the ground. The hook is chrome plated zinc and fits a standard thread extension pole or broom handle. I’ve included photos of my son up on a ladder adjusting the topmost wrap, and then of me doing the same with the Big Reach Pole Hook from the ground. This has a push/pull load limit of 20 lbs. and isn’t intended for heavy work, but is ideal for Christmas lights.

The Big Reach Pole Hook screwed right onto the end of my extension pole. There is a small locking screw to tighten it, but I didn’t bother and it was fine. The package says it is fire proof and a non-rusting zinc-alloy.The “M” shaped top allows you to push or pull, depending on what you are using it for. I used it to hand Christmas lights in a tree. It made the work a lot easier and safer, not having to climb a tall ladder.I was also able to get down/hang some extension cords in my garage, which I usually have to get a step ladder or climb on top of my workbench to reach.

Screwed this onto the end of a wooden broomstick, worked great putting lights on and taking lights off our 10’ Christmas tree.

My life just became easier! What a relief to having an alternative to getting a ladder out or asking for help sometimes. I attached it to an extension paint pole. There is a tightening screw which makes me want to keep it on a pole permanently for convenience.I have a hanging planter that requires a ladder but with this hook I was able to get it while standing. Unfortunately the video clip I had wouldn’t attach but there is a picture. Then I needed to run an extension cord for a snowblower and thought over the rafters instead of the floor would be safer. The large cord was stiff from the cold but making a loop helped grab it with the hook. Up and over it went. Pushing anything on the rafters in the way was also easy.It is great for repositioning knickknacks on high cupboards or shelves

This hook made from aluminum allow and looks strong. It screws in onto extension poles and you can push or pool stuff on high above the ground without any ladders to climb. The only concern is material looks brittle and if pole ever goes hard against the ground that hook can be smashed to pieces. The reason why the alloy is brittle is to give enough of sturdiness to avoid bending. I used to pool a piece of satellite dish cable that was cutoff and left on the roof with a slacks long enough to get it down re-connect and throw excess back on the roof. I like the additional screw that prevents the hook turning around the pole. I also used it to remove abandoned bird nest between wall and gutter spout. So far it performed miraculously, very happy with it.

The upper part of the hook is not deep enough. Everything i tried to use it on would just slide off. .

The Docapole hook attachment is a convenient tool for my extend-o poles. It is made of heavy metal type material. There is a little screw that I loosened, then twisted the hook onto my 14 feet pole with a painting rod thread. Then I tightened the pole. I extended the pole and proceeded to attach my trees. It was easy to hook onto mistletoe and pull it down. Similarly, I was able to yank down some ball moss. I have another 24 foot giant pole for those hard to reach places. Be careful that your pole is secured together correctly. If you hook onto a branch at 20 feet and your pole separates below the hook, then you must fish out the pole… Overall a very good product and well made. I expect to use it in the summer when our frisbees get caught in the trees.
