Pretty easy to install for a non-handy type. A bit difficult to get it perpendicular to both walls. Works great for our needs. Do need to remember to check the tension wheels and tighten if necessary. Especially if the installer is older and lacks great hand strength. Overall great purchase.

I’ve now put three of these in as pet gates, and we’re contemplating a 4th. Kind of a “trust with verification” thing with our dogs. This is one of those products that actually requires you to read the install instructions – yes, even I read ’em. Installation needs to be plumb and level for the self-closing gate to work flawlessly, but it’s not that picky. If you don’t read the instructions, it is almost guaranteed you will experience the disappointment of saying “They sent me a bet gate” or something similar. It takes a little thought to realize the slight “bend” is what provides the overall tension to keep it in place.I did mix-and-match the extensions between two kits to get just the right spacing for two of our wider openings, in spite of the instructions telling me not to. Such is life.

It was time that I finally purchased a baby gate since my 1 year old has started exploring the house more. I wanted to keep him safe while also providing a way for the rest of the family to move freely through the rest of the home so I purchased this gate by Dreambaby. This particular gate is a BIG improvement from the gates I used when my older children were younger (cheap wooden gate that pinched fingers and had to be pushed closed and caused numerous pinched fingers or plastic gates where the child can climb up the tiny beehive like holes) and this gate also has a door that can be placed in the “open” position for long periods of time…unlike others that immediately swing shut. Some of the great features this gate offers…that i love…is the auto close, smart stay open (you can do laundry and leave open at night without running into the gate), simple installation without the need for tools or hardware, EZY check indicator (red and green) shows you if the gate is locked (red) or unlocked (green) so there is no second guessing if the door is locked or if the tension on the gate is loose. The gate itself is 30.9 x 29.4 x 2.5 and weighs just 12 lbs. Included with the gate are 2 extensions, 4 tension knobs, 4 mounting cups, 4 adhesive pads, 4 screws and an instruction manual. This gate fits doorways, hallways, and stairways from 29.5″ – 38″. I really like how easy the gate is to open since the latch does not require a multitude of ways you have to push/press it to open it…just push the latch forward, lift the door up and push outwards. Also, the child can not climb out of this gate since the gate has vertical bars as its nearly impossible for a child to get traction that way. The gate itself is a perfect height…I’m 5’3 and it stops at my waist. I am able to open and close the gate with one hand and not have any trouble. A great solution for keeping my son safe while affording me the opportunity to get things done around the house. I was offered this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion.

There are a great deal of choices when it comes to baby gates, & all find one that is their favorite. This gate is mine. It’s simple to install, nice to look at, pocket friendly, & super safe. Ok, so we use our Dreambaby gates as dog gates. The quality is superior to every other one we’ve tried and installation is a breeze. I do wish the safety labels were easier to get off, as they are a distraction, but it did not stop a second purchase.

The gate is really sturdy. The opening in not really wide though. I dont like that the latch sticks a little and you have to wiggle it in order to pull it up and open it. But that is really the only issue. I think its because it is tighten really hard. It is really easy to put together. I was kinda confuse when purchasing one because I have a 44in opening so I ordered this one because the other ones said that you needed extensions but they were not included. Needless to say, I only use the 3 in ext. It looks really great and I am glad I purchased two!!

We have the Dawson Gates which we love but needed a wider gate for another doorway. This Chelsea Gate Kit also gives us the option of using the gate with extensions in other areas – a win, win! This is another winning gate by Dreambaby but since it doesnt come in silver to match the Dawson gate, we choose the black for a better color match.We absolutely love that this gate has ALL the same features as the Dawson just the style is a little different. It auto closes and has the hold open features as well! This is another heavy duty metal gate that should last us for years to come. This gate also was super easy to install. No drills/tools are needed, you just install and turn the tension knobs to tighten the gate into your doorframe. Happy repeat customer!

The gate action is very good. The extensions integrate easily. The only issue I had was the opening I needed to fill was 81″. At that length the product doesn’t stay together well and can be pushed to disengage from the walls. I zip tied a 1/2″ OD pipe to bottom of frame and that solved the problem.
