I don’t love that I have to put holes in the walls, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me personally. I love this retractable gate. It’s incredibly convenient to just be able to retract it and pull it back out when needed. Nothing to try to store or struggle with.

The gate was easy to install. Once in use, became difficult to open and close. Always needing two hands to open or close it, and if you don’t hold down the lock, it makes an awful clicking noise when retracting.

I bought this gate at the DC baby expo this past weekend and absolutely love it. The fact that I mounted it so that it stays relatively hidden when not in use is awesome. Love that it has a second set of mounts so I can find another spot to use it.

This gate looks sleek when it is extended, and it was fairly straight-forward to install. But it seems flimsily constructed. It seems like the kind of thing you have to treat very deliberately and carefully or some part of the retraction mechanism will break. We only extend ours a couple of times a week, so with care it may last for a few years. If you need to extend the gate daily or even a couple of times a day, I would not buy this one. I just don’t think it would last.

If the intent is to use for dogs, and you have a small dog, be careful with your consideration of this product. I set it up on my deck and less than 10 minutes later my older, really calm Yorkie pushed his way underneath it and was out of the yard. I had it mounted with the bottom only 1″ off the deck, but the material is easy to push up. May be okay with bigger dogs (which I also have), but for a 5# Yorkie……not so much. Otherwise it is a very nice unit and likely okay for kids.

What I like about this gate is that it can easily be “put away” when you don’t necessarily want a baby gate up. We have a gate installed at the top of our stairs that is a wooden gate that either needs to be shut or can be left open but it swings out into the hallway a few feet and has two metal pieces that stick out of the side when left open that are a definite hazard for a running toddler, so it basically always has to be closed. When you have other family or friends over, or just at night after the littles are in bed, sometimes you don’t want people to have to navigate over or around your baby gates so this one is a nice compromise! I like the minimalist design and that it isn’t an eye sore!

My husband installed this gate on our back porch. He said the instructions were terrible and all the pieces weren’t labeled. I don’t like how loud it is when you open it. If you don’t pull the gate far enough to close, it locks, so you have to retract it and try again. I do like that it retracts out of the way, and there is no bar to possibly trip over. I would recommend as an outdoor gate.

Having a toddler at home we go through quite a few baby gates! This is by far one of my favorite. I really like the mesh design compared to the slates with other gates. ( My toddler likes to try and stick his legs through those) The retractable design is fantastic, though it is not as easy to retract as I would have liked it to be. This may just get better with practice. With gates everywhere being able to “hide” the gate when not in use is great. It was much easier to install than some of my other gates that I have used. Before I was offered this free sample I was not aware of this particular product, so I am very happy that I was able to test it. This is most certainly a product that I would buy in the future if I am in need of another gate.

This Gate is amazing it helps keep both my son and our dog out of the kitchen and therefor they aren’t getting into trouble which is really easy to do for a toddler haha.. He doesn’t like that he can’t get in there anymore though he still tries to get past to get into trouble haha.

This worked great for us, we only needed it to act as a visual stopper for our dogs. I wanted it to be able to roll up because we have a small house and wanted something compact but still useful. This gate is not meant for youngsters that would hold on to it or dogs that would jump on it.
