The Dreambaby Dawson Auto Close Stay Open Security Gate is a modern, easy to install and use security gate, designed to keep children safe. The gate swings closed automatically and the Smart Hold Stay Open feature will allow the door to remain in the open position when the gate in not needed. It is suitable for doorways, hallways and top and bottom of stairs. Gate fits openings of 28-32 in. Can fit larger openings (up to 53 in.) with extensions purchased separately.

I got this gate used from Craigslist probably 10 years ago and it is the best gate we’ve ever had for our dogs till very recently we got a jumper. I like the functionality, quality feel, and durability of this gate so much I went looking for a taller one of the same brand because it really has been and is that good. With 3 dogs, one of them is a hound/jumper/counter surfer/bad dog. Regardless, we don’t let dogs stay in the kitchen for their own safety around cooking. I tried a taller and cheaper CL offering which works but the quality, features, and functionality are just not the same. The auto close is better than any of the other four gates we now have and the stay open feature is worth any price they want for these gates when wrangling dogs through the kitchen between crates to the living room or outside. These are the gates you want.

I absolutely love this gate! I use it in my kitchen to keep my kids out while I’m cooking/ It’s very easy to put up and it also swings shut automatically which makes it a whole lot easier and safer around my kids and pets! It also opens in both directions. I am very happy with this gate and plan on buying a few more for other rooms in our house. If you have little ones or pets I highly suggest this gate!

The Dawson auto close security gate with smart stay open feature is amazing! It fits perfect at the top of the staircase. The silver color is nice. The gate is Very easy to install. After being installed the gate feels and seems very secure. I will definetly reccomend this gate to other parents!

I’m giving this gate 4 stars, only because the tensions knobs were so hard to tighten, but I suppose that’s because the tension is very strong. I like the look of this gate for a modern styled home, and it is really durable! Our 3 year old son hasn’t been able to open this gate or knock it loose, a big plus! He’s a toughy, so we have the little wall mounting cups installed for extra sturdiness. I love being able to leave the gate open when he’s in bed so i can go back and forth between rooms.

This gate is so versatile! It can be used for kids or pets. I love how it can be mounted just about anywhere! We have ours for our stairs and it works like a charm. There are also more gate pieces that attach if you have a wider opening and need something a little bigger. I love that this is not permanent and can be moved when needed.

So far, this gate has been amazing! Not only is it easy to install, but it is also high quality! What I really like about this gate is that it is a pressure mounted one. Meaning you do not need to drill anything! This means your walls/doors are going to be in good shape when you are done using it. Another great thing about it is that it can fit an opening that is 28 to 32 inches wide. It is also 29.5″ tall, so it makes it difficult for a child or an animal to get over the top of it. There is a smart hold feature on the gate that makes the gate stay open when it is not being used. This is great if you need to bring in something from outside into the house, or if you have people over. Makes life a lot easier, since you don’t have to try to keep the gate open the whole time you have anyone over! There is also a double locking feature on this gate! This makes it VERY hard for your child to open it! There is a lock at the top, and it slides so that you can lift the gate up to unlock it from the bottom lock. If that makes sense! It’s actually very easy to do and very easy to figure out. One of the biggest things about this gate that I love is that you can use it pretty much anywhere in your house! It works really well at the top or bottom of stairs too! It’s very secure and that gives me peace of mind! I highly recommend this gate to everyone! It is very versatile and easy to use. This awesome gate keeps the kids out of the kitchen and safe, but I can still keep an eye on them, it does not not block my view! It pressure mounts to the wall in a jiff and is easy to move to another area of the home if needed. I love that it’s easy for me to get in and out of yet the kids can’t open it. The hold open feature is great for when they’re finally in bed 😉 . This is a great heavy duty gate for a high traffic area so the automatic closing is awesome – it gets lots of use! Love this gate and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a heavy duty gate with all the bells n whistles!

We use these gates in doorways to allow or block access of our dogs to different rooms. Love the stylish look of these gates. These gates are built for heavy duty traffic areas. They even “feel” heavy duty. They have held up to our large labs and excessive use over the years! So easy to take down and install in different areas of the house when needed. Stay-open feature is great when you don’t need access blocked.
