Our staircase was a HUGE problem and this baby gate was the perfect answer. The base of our staircase is much wider than an average doorway and it was very difficult finding a quality baby gate that was wide enough to securely protect my tough toddler. This gate is excellent, looks lovely in my home, and keeps everyone SAFE.

We chose this gate mainly for the minimal space needed to function. The area at the top of our stairs is limited and a retractable gate is perfect. First, the packaging was wonderful. We had a hurricane rain and the box was soaked, but everything inside was preserved with nice bags and wrapping. The installation was great. This product has so many options and applications. We chose the configuration that worked for us, used the templates provided, and not long after we had functioning gates. I will say we have an older home and had to do some figuring around the banister and railing but made it function perfectly. Then we had a problem. With the baby we wanted to keep the cats from coming upstairs and they could crawl under the gate. We studied it for a while and bingo – all we had to do was change the configuration. We used the appropriate template, unscrewed, and reattached everything. Now it works just as good as before, looks great, and keeps the cats out. Using the gate holding baby does take some getting used to, however the other benefits definitely outweigh this. I also like the fact that with extra hardware, when we no longer need to block the stairs we can use it to block off other rooms (cat room). Thank you!

I installed the gate between the hallway to the kitchen ( the most dangerous place for a toddler!) When there are little ones running around its hard to get them to stop following you. It’s bad enough they already copy everything we do. My first thought was this is heavy. And of great quality but what if it falls at a let go of the gate. However it turned out to be very sturdy and reliable to keeping the kids OUT ! It took longer than expected to build and get together but the labor was worth it in the end. The black one I received I really loved it gives like a total shut off- off limits warning sign. Howevet I wouldve definitely bought for the other rooms if the price itself would be in my mommy budget, but totally recommending to all mommies (specially us new ones who have anxiety about everything!) Thank you so much for the opportunity.

I bought this gate at the DC baby expo this past weekend and absolutely love it. The fact that I mounted it so that it stays relatively hidden when not in use is awesome. Love that it has a second set of mounts so I can find another spot to use it.

I bought 2 retractable gates for my preschool as a way to divide my space (we had to divide classrooms to accommodate the COVID licensing regulations of smaller group sizes). The gates are a great way to fulfill the licensing regulations but are removable for when the regulations revert back. The gates are easy to operate and look great!

The retractable gate works as expected. Not too hard to install. Requires two hands to open/close gate. The push and turn mechanism to unlock the retractable gate doesn’t work 100% of the time. So you may have to repeat a couple times. Regardless I’m pleased with the device. I attempted to order another one. Store/online is all out. Found another one in a different color and purchased.

What I like about this gate is that it can easily be “put away” when you don’t necessarily want a baby gate up. We have a gate installed at the top of our stairs that is a wooden gate that either needs to be shut or can be left open but it swings out into the hallway a few feet and has two metal pieces that stick out of the side when left open that are a definite hazard for a running toddler, so it basically always has to be closed. When you have other family or friends over, or just at night after the littles are in bed, sometimes you don’t want people to have to navigate over or around your baby gates so this one is a nice compromise! I like the minimalist design and that it isn’t an eye sore!

Having a toddler and stairs we have went through a few different gates due to how my stairway is set up. We decided to install this gate at the bottom due to the mesh lining is not the greatest. Installation was easy and the directions were easy to follow. To retract the gate using one hand on the knob is a bit difficult but hopefully after time it will loosen up and not be so hard. It is very loud when it retracts so just a heads up on that. Overall this gate is pretty sturdy and has a nice look to it. Compared to gates we have used in the past I am not a big fan of the mesh lining just for the fact that if you put the gate at the top of stairs your child could easily wiggle through. My cat has already managed to get through the small gap at the bottom.
