We were trying to hang a flag on an old flag pole that was on the property we bought when it broke off in the middle. We thought we would have to dig it out, cement and all, and replace it. We decided to try and repair it. The Dremel rotary tool did the trick. We were able to cut off the part of the threaded piece that had broken and screw the pole back on. The cut was clean and easy to do. We also needed to clean old paint and rust from a wrought iron handrail we were reusing and this tool did a neat quick job of it. We look forward to finding other things to use it on.

I always have 4 of these little inexpensive beauties lined up with speed-pedals and different burs, to carve quickly. I wear them out eventually, but they are tough, fast, and can fall on the ground without breaking. Therefore, I always have two new ones lined up in a closet. As soon as I wear out one, I have a replacement ready to go.

This is a versatile addition to any tool collection. From sharpening knives, to trimming out plastic, to grinding off the end of a couple screws that were just a little too long for my project and poked out the back, I’ve found myself reaching for this tool even more in than I anticipated. It only has one speed, so it’s by no means perfect for especially delicate applications, but for general use it’s fantastic. Switching at the attachments is straightforward and it’s comfortable to hold and use. Great tool!
