Turn your Dremel rotary tool into a powerful high-speed cutter. Create stylish designs on wood, fiberglass, ceramics, jewelry, soft metals and more. Our powerful, simple-to-use engraving cutters make it easy to express your creativity. Two cutters per pack. Dermal 115-5/16 in. High speed cutter is ideal for shaping, hollowing, grooving, slotting, inlaying and making tapered holes. For best results, insert the accessory bit all the way into the tool and then back it out slightly before tightening down. This provides plenty of shank for the collect or chuck to hold onto the bit.
- Secure objects to a stable surface while working
- Use the sides of the cutter (rather than the tip) for effective cutting the tip cuts poorly and can break under pressure
- Use higher speeds for hard woods, slower speeds for metals and very slow speeds for plastics (to avoid melting at the point of contact)
- If chattering occurs, increase speed
- Great for cutting on curved surfaces
- Turns Dremel rotary tools into high-speed cutting tools

You definitely want this bit in your arsenal if you carve anything of a smaller nature or have fine details in your work. This bit is a monster when it comes to removing stock in small areas and perfecting the overall appearance of a project. Like many bits in its category, the blades retain a good edge, but do wear down and require maintenance. The task of correcting this issue can be tedious, and is usually accompanied with a need to clear the cutter channels as well. Personally, I hold Dremel to a higher standard and tend to be a bit hard on the tool and it’s bits, resulting in overheating it at which point it can become loose, slip from the colander, and sometimes act as a projectile. Overall, I recommend this for all carving work, as well as safety glasses and the practice of not pushing your tools to extremes.

Used these to outline the recess for hinge plates on an existing door jab. Used at high speed on my Dremel Tool, it required both bits to finish 8 cutouts. Not a bad exchange when considering using a chisel and carving out the wood. Just a little disappointed on the life of the items.

Up front, I used this on aluminum (6061T6) and it worked fine, but I don’t know how long it will hold up. The packaging said “High Speed”, which I interpreted as “High Speed Steel” (HSS – what many tools for cutting steel are made of) but the back of the packaging shows its uses as wood and plastic. The “High Speed” is intentionally misleading to people who are experienced metalworkers.

Used this to deepen insets for door hinges on 150 year old doors. Lot quicker then chiseling. I also bought the plunge router attachment which is cheap and significantly expands the use of these cutters.
