I used the Dremel High Performance 194 High Speed Cutter with both the Dremel Rotary Tool and the Rotary Tool attached to Dremels Plunge Router to attempt a more intricate cut into wood. In both instances I wanted to see if 194 Cutter bit into the wood I used and in both soft and hard woods, it performed smoothly with both the Dremel Rotary Tool and used with the Dremel Plunge Router. I use the Dremel 4486 Keyless Chuck with my Rotary Tool unless using Dremel’s Plunge Router and the majority of my 28 years using every type of Dremel Rotary Tool has involved working with wood. I used the High Performance 194 High Speed Cutter, to out line a carving and to clean up the deep cuts in a Norse wall hanging, the wood I’m using is basswood, which soft, the cutters in some areas left a lot of fuzz, but was easly cleaned up with sand paper.

Used the engraving bit on a wood craft project I was doing for the fall season. The engraving bit works really nice, takes off material easily and leaves a clean finished surface. Definitely worth having for crafts and hobbies. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

Just to put it out there, Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. I gave these bits a good test on some hard Maple as well as some Basswood and Cherry. I also tried them out on some PVC plastic and Copper pipe. There’s a recommended speed guide included in the package with the bits. I used those approximate speed ranges and didn’t have any issues with melting plastic or burning of the wood. The TiN coating is a nice added benefit to help make the bits stay sharp longer. I used one for quite a while carving some wood with no signs of dulling. I would have expected to see it begin to burn sooner but it just kept working along without slowing down. One nice feature of this bit is the cutter extends out onto the end. So a plunge cut is possible straight into whatever your carving. I’d highly recommend these for your next wood carving or detailing project.

I needed a wood carving project to check out the new Max Life, titanium coated high speed 1/8 inch cutter. I needed project not too complex. My wife suggested that I duplicate a doll’s leg for her. One leg was missing from and old wooden carved doll she found at a flea market. I had the appropriate sized dowels on hand plus the Dremel 192 cutter heads, so I got on with the project!Used the cutter head to notch out and rough out the jointed legs. Also used the Max Life metal cutting wheel to rough out the shoe! The 192 handled the delicate cutting well. I would definitely purchase these cutting bits in the future.Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve recently started refreshing some parts of my house. The house was built in 1948 and is overbuilt so I’ve had to be open to some non-standard methods to get this done. These bits have been a big help. I’ve been able to carve out very tough old wood when needed. They have never let me down. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

These TiN cutters do last and stay sharp. I have used to cut a notch for wire in the back of about 125ft of baseboard and worked great beginning to end. I do’t know when I will even have to use the second one in the package because this one is still running like brand new.Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

The Dremel High Performance Speed Cutter works as advertised. My Dremel is one of the handiest tools I own and I have many different bits I se for various projects. I know many people use them for carving wood, but I’ve also used them for glass, plastics, and metals. I recently had a small project that had some very hard plastic parts. One of them was fitting properly, so having recently received this bit, I put it to work. Within minutes I was able to easily trim the piece I was working on with ease and precision. It worked perfectly! Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

I recently used these high-speed cutters for a woodworking project – carving letters in a box I made as a gift. The bits are 3.2 mm and were exactly the size I needed. The cut throught the hard maple like butter and left a smooth edge.I used these in combination with the Dremel collet nut kit(4485W) which made using the bits simple, fast and, held the bits firmly in place. Both products I highly recommend for anyone using and Dremel or smilar tool.Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review

These high speed carving bits are great for carving detail as well as general use. I have found that dremel carving bits as well as many other dremel bit types work extremely well with there flex shaft attachment and with it it’s like being able to freehand draw detail in to what ever material your working with. I love these carving bits I use them often and they have many shapes styles and sizes. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

After using the Dremel High Performance High Speed cutter on two different woods and carving projects, it remained sharp as new and is ready to tackle more. However, like any similar bit, it leaves quite a bit of fuzz in basswood, but can be cleaned up easily by tilting the bit or using sand paper. These work really well for smaller projects, but I wouldn’t suggest trying to hog off a lot of wood on a larger carving. I was able to clean up and cut custom grooves in the back of a turkey plaque with ease and I feel these bits are a step up from Dremel’s others and are worth adding to your arsenal.Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.
