The metal cutting wheel worked well to cut nail heads.

This is the third Dremel tool since 1967 — when I ordered a single speed model from a hobby catalog. It lasted through 5 brush changes. Replaced with variable speed model in 1997. It lasted through three brush changes but the variable on/off dial eventually failed. The separate variable speed control and on/off switch should add up to a long life. I build a variety of items from electric circuit boards to HO Scale models. This tool coupled with the accessories I already have should provide excellent service for years. In the two weeks I have had it I have already used it to drill, cut and sand about 6 combined hours. The tapered front end design makes it easier to control.

Love how much power this rotary tool has in such a small form factor. Makes it easy to get into tiny places that are hard to reach.

This is a corded rotary tool which is awesome because I am not restricted on the amount of time I can use it. Worked well to cut plastic although it melted it sometimes. Really like it so lightweight that using was not exhaustive.

I have owned a #395 kit for several years and it has served me very well. I use it in my work shop as well as in building my HO railroad. It is very versatile and has many accessories available. Recently I added the Flex Shaft which makes the #396 even more useful.I recommend the variable speed version to get the best uses of the tool.

This was a Christmas gift I received after debating over whether or not to pick up a rotary tool for months. I love the tool, it’s a joy to use, and I’ve already gotten a few projects under my belt, from restoration to some light cutting and grinding. I can’t wait to play around with the tool moving forward!

I bought this after my Dremel Moto tool Model 260-5 from 1974 had a brush disintertgrate, so on 5/8/ 2018 I bought the model 3000 to replace it. It is a workhorse, and has more features, and control than I could imagine. I I kept the old 260 in my shop.I also have the Dremel 580 4″ Table saw in woking order, and the Moto Shop.in use.I would recommend Dremel for endurance, and dependability.

The Dremel variable speed 3000 kit is a must for home woodworkers and crafters. It comes with just about every attachment a crafter would need. The streamlined case makes small adjustments easy and controllable. But beware; the tool is powerful. It is way more powerful than a rotary sander. It requires finesse and a soft touch as too much pressure will ruin your job or require repair. I should note that the operators manual clearly urges a soft touch. Overall, the Dremel is a winner that I will use often.

I’ve used this tool for about 2 years. I like it, but I recently ran into a problem with the bit locking mechanism because I’m an idiot and I tried to lock the bit with the tool on (DON’T DO THAT). I sent it in for repairs expecting an invoice, but they shipped back in two weeks in perfect working condition. They even called me when I forgot to include my return address. 10/10
