A shank with a screw-like head. Used primarily with Dremel polishing bits and accessories. For best results, insert the mandrel all the way into the tool and then back it out slightly before tightening down. This provides plenty of shank for the collect or chuck to hold onto. Simply remove the screw, line up a cut-off wheel or sanding band over the hole in the shank and replace and tighten the screw.
- Shank with screw like head
- Use with discs and wheels
- Plenty of shank for the collet or chuck to hold onto

- Compact depth guide: round front that can be used for tracing a pattern or following an edge
- Compact depth guide: compatible with the vacuum attachment to keep your work place clean
- Shank diameter 1/8 in., 3 mm, 2 mm
- Insert the small screw through the hole in the cut-off wheel then tighten the screw into the mandrel’s threaded head

There’s a wrench in the kit. The other end of the wrench is the screw driver, to be used on the teensie screw. Even my sewing machine screwdrivers are too hard of a metal to be used on this teensie screw. This is a 3000, maybe dremel fixed things with this model???

I have had a Dremel since about 1968. I have used the mandrel, which has changed over the years, and a cut off wheel more than any of the other tools. In other words, I use it a lot. I have never had a problem with it. I notice that the new one is an EZ-Lock mandrel (I just ordered an accessory kit). I will interested to see how this works.

These were fine although the screws on the two I ordered were rusty.

This is what it is. It does exactly what its supposed to and its good to have a few of these in your kit. It saves lots of time if you have enough to have one of each type of cutting disc mounted and ready to go. There’s no downsite to owning at least 5 of these things

I got this tool with my kit but didn’t know what was attached to it to make it work. I also didn’t know how to make it work since there was no instructions on it.
