Got this for a Xmas Gift a couple of years back. Was glad to get it, until I realized that the battery level was poorly designed. I really cannot believe this is a Dremel. I own an awesome Dremel Pro with Flex shaft and accessories which is great, but I was glad to get a cordless to assist in my hobby. Disappointed to say the least.

I’m currently looking into purchasing a second one of thees battery packs. They seem to run down quite quickly. I wish that an adapter were built allowing this Dremle to be turned into a corded Dremle when longer run times were desired and a cordless unit were not essential. Essentially a corded unit that would replace the battery.

Following suit with another review, yes, unfortunately the battery life is terrible. Mine has done slightly better than Mick’s (sorry, Mick) in that after a full charge, I only get maybe 30 minutes out of the battery before it dies. Quite frankly, the internal battery on my Norelco razor, and the amount of rechargeable batteries that I use as a whole last longer than this. It is still a great tool, and I’m looking forward to using it on some new projects I’m thinking about, but I’m a little weary about it given the short battery life.

This battery from the get go does not hold a good charge. It seems less powerful from the first charge. But it is the only one I found online to replace the original.

I have a corded Dremel that continues to serve me well. I purchased the 7700 cordless 2 years ago for another residence, and the lack of a cord provides great flexibility. However, the 1st battery failed after a few months. Dremel shipped me a new battery. After about 6 months, the 2nd battery will not hold a charge for more than a few days, and it continuously takes a charge on the charger. I’d like to think Dremel has improved this battery and would provide me with a replacement that matches the high quality of their other products.
