Nice tool for small crafts. Power is too small for cutting metal. Very good for drilling woods, plastics, PCB. Drilling on metal – problematic due to high RPM and low torque. Torque is varies with preset speed. If the torque goes above – the tool automatically shuts off. Looks like automatic shuts off based on motor current. So, on low RPM settings motor voltage so small that even not enough to activate shuts off when drillbit stuck in material. It is pretty comfortable sits in the hand. Much better than 12v tool (8220). Light weight, and small size. Because of small size the standard attachments like drill press, router doesn’t fit.

I got my micro cordless 8050 a couple years ago, and I am the BIGGEST fan!! This joker lets me bear down and get ugly or will do the lightest of tasks without a whimper! Most cordless rotary tools just don’t have the guys for hard work, but the Micro steps way out ahead of the crowd to please! However, the battery life leaves a LOT to be desired – I am a coppersmith and my husband is a mechanic – and having 10 minutes or less (at best) of full throttle just wasn’t enough. This is the first Dremel I’ve *loved* to depend on, and hope to find more like it in the cordless product line! I’ve had a Dremel for many years and a tool like this makes up for the ones that just don’t meet my standards.

Seriously, I’ve owned this beast for over a year now and it still shreds like day one. Doesn’t matter if I’m sanding a rough edge off of something or polishing my brass door knocker. This bad Larry was probably the best thing my wife ever gave me (Including our children). Had to buy her one ironically because if I’m not using it she is to polish her rocks or or engrave everything she can get her hands on. There’s even been entire nights we’ve both sat there dremmeling and not say a word to each other and it was great. Best tool ever, hands down, bar none, will say it until the day I die. Only thing I could say thays remotely negative and that’s only if I had to was the battery could be better, but I don’t need to run it on full speed that long anyways so it’s perfect. Hopefully it last many more years. Thank you dremel keep being you.

I am always happy with this product, its sands dog nails quickly, quietly and easily. Unfortunately it only has about a two year shelf life when used every day. It is such an essential product I will never use any other! However it is getting hard to find.
