I bought this dremel about a year ago and have used it for literally everything! I do pig hoof trims for a living and it has been the most amazing tool for my job. There is a rotary tool made just for hoof trims that doesn’t even come close to what this dremel can do. I have since bought the Stylo as well for designing. I love my 8220 and am planning on buying two more for my business use and backup.

I have several corded Dremel’s that work great, the only thing I don’t like is the cord getting in the way and having to roll it up every time I use it. That’s why I purchased this cordless model. First of all it has more than enough power to do the job and I really like the balance. I was a little concerned about the battery life but as it turns out I am still on the first charge after about 2.5 hours of use. I highly recommend this product.

Don’t expect to do too much without buying additional bits. That said, you may be surprised by how versatile this tool is for mostly small tasks.One accessory that came with this, the cut off wheel, surprised me. I’ve used it to cut through relatively heavy gauge steel (think steel wheel-barrow) with ease. Slowly, yes, but without any problems.The battery life was surprisingly good. This is subjective, of course, but when applying a substantial load to the tool while using the cloth polishing wheels, the motor got hot, but the batteries kept going without slowing down.It won’t replace a 41/2″ grinder or a 1/2″ drill but it seems to easily handle the jobs you’d expect to do with 1/8″ bits.
