I was making some mounting brackets out of 1/4 steel, and my bolt holes were a little out of alignment. I didn’t want to drill up as they weren’t that far off, so I decided to try this little beauty. I was able to stretch the holes for a perfect fit. I was amazed how well this thing cut through 1/4 steel, like a hot knife through butter. The only down side is that it generated hundreds if not thousands of little metal slivers or splinters from cutting. I ended up pulling about a half dozen out of my hands because I was to hard headed to get some gloves. So if your cutting fairly thick metal, you may want to make sure you wear gloves and a long sleeve shirt to protect yourself from the material. As always, wear eye protection.

Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.I tried this out on some bone and on some Brazilian cherry wood. It worked well on the bone. It was only fair on the Brazilian cherry; but then a lot of tools don’t work well on that. With some adjustments to the speed I kept the burning of the work down.

I used this bit on a Dremel rotary tool to enlarge a hole in a fiberglass shower wall so I could replace a two handle faucet with a single handle one and a remodel plate. It was easier to control when moved in a clockwise direction. I used the Dremel guide to control the depth and stabilize the cutter. A pilot hole or existing opening is needed when starting the cut.

Love how it eats away metal helps a lot only thing is that got to wear goggles and gloves. To much metal shavings but other than that it’s a good way to spend money

It worked but took a long time to cut Not all that great for the price

Should be noted that will not work well on aluminum without lubrication. As a first-time user, I discovered this the hard way.

Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. I used this on one of my carving projects. It really does a great job on wood. I haven’t really done any carving out of metal, but I wanted to see how it held up working with metal. I have a few pieces laying around the shop and so I just drilled some holes to see what it would do. It eats away at metal good also. I would buy this bit again.

Worked great in the wood project.

This bit did exactly what I wanted. Thanks to it’s size, I was able to get it into the super tight space that a bit for a die grinder wouldn’t fit.

I was able to even out the rectangular hole for my deadbolt lock. A slight 1/16 of an inch had to be taken off to make the lock work. It worked perfectly.

I bought it to cut stainless steel and it cut it with no problem.
