Dremel Tungsten Carbide Carving Bits are ideal for shaping, smoothing or removing material from especially hard substances, like cast iron, nonferrous metals and hard woods. The 1/8 In. Tungsten Carbide Carving Bit can be used in virtually any Dremel rotary tool.
- Shapes, smooths or grinds especially hard materials including: hardened steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nonferrous metals, fired ceramics, plastics and hard woods
- High-speed bit made of tungsten carbide, the hardest material next to diamonds
- Use higher speeds for hard woods, slower speeds for metals and very slow speeds for plastics

This is my go-to cutter. I have probably purchased 4 of them over the years but keep on losing them because the Dremel plastic cases have poor clear plastic lids and the cutters fall out. I can cut metal, wood and plastic without the cutter dulling.

Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. I used this on one of my carving projects. It really does a great job on wood. I haven’t really done any carving out of metal, but I wanted to see how it held up working with metal. I have a few pieces laying around the shop and so I just drilled some holes to see what it would do. It eats away at metal good also. I would buy this bit again.
