I bought this kit to sharpen my chain saw chains. It works awesome. About ten minutes per chain if you take your time and do a perfect sharpening. If I sent the chains out I would of paid $10 for each chain. It took me 20 minutes to do the job, but it would of taken me just as long to drive to the shop to drop them off. As a bonus I also have the lawnmower sharpening attachment and the tool sharpening attachment. I haven’t used either of those yet but I’m actually looking forward to it. It’s so simple it’s kind of fun. I highly recommend this kit for anyone who likes to save money for those things they can’t do themselves.

I really only bought this to sharpen my lawn mower blade. The guide is ok, but you don’t really need it.If you’re only using it for blades, I would probably just buy the stone and free hand it.

I’m really only using the lawn mower sharpening part, but that bit is great. Aside from making sharpening easy, it also is perfectly usable (at least on my equipment) without actually removing the blade from the cutting deck.

First time using the kit on a chainsaw chain and the results were stellar. Took a few tries to figure out how to really use the guide, but the chain turned out great and it only took a few minutes. I didn’t push too hard because I didn’t want to chew up the stone. Using the pink stone I expect it will last for maybe 10 sharpenings, which I’m happy with considering replacement stones are relatively inexpensive.
