This Diamond Wheel works great & love the EZ mandrel part of it, since it makes putting it on & taking it off fast. I used it to cut flagstone for a garden project. I then ran it on an old brick to see how it would do & it did very well. This little wheel is so easy to change in and out with the EZ Mandrel, I was building a five-story high Guinea Pig cage for my granddaughters. I made a few errors with driving screws into the boards. I decided this might be a good time to try out this tough little wheel. Wow! That was just a piece of cake. It cut through those screws with little to no effort. I also used it to cut my ramps and doors out from my paneling. It actually did better then my skill saw. The edges were very smooth. I’ve started a carving project now. I used it to cut away a lot of the excess wood. I know I will be using this powerful wheel in a lot of my other projects, too. I like this wheel better then any other wheels I’ve used so far. I would recommend to anyone who uses a Dremel. You can’t go wrong with this purchase.

This is awesome. It replaces the cutting disk for metal and the cutting disk for plastic. This is the all-in-one disk. I have used it to cut white, plastic, drainage pipe; cut pieces of dowel rod; cut Sleeping Beauty turquoise for earrings; cut copper sheeting for a bracelet and cut special angle cuts on a tile for a tea pot trivet. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.I have been using Dremel products for many years and find the EZ lock and the EZ 402 Mandrel to be an excellent choice for cutting of both soft and hard wood as well as ceramics.I first tried it on a bass wood project and was appreciative of the fast cutting and ease of cutting, I used various speeds between 18,000 and 20,000 RPM. There was very little grabbing and/or kickback. Easy to move and follow contours.The EZ mandrel is easy to use and an excellent choice with a variety of choices, east to load and change accessories.

This cut off wheel is awesome! I needed to trim my laser fan hood by 2 inches on the inside my C02 laser engraver. Before getting this cut off wheel I was going to have to remove the rear cover, the fan, and then the fan hood just to accomplish this task with my 4 1/2 inch cutoff wheel. This Dremel cutoff wheel saved me tons of time and my laser was back up and running in minutes not hours. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. This wheel is awesome! I cut 1/8 inch steel with it to test it’s strength and it cut through it without a problem. You have to go slow because its a small wheel but its a tough little sucker and it lasts a long long time.

Dremel has provided me with this product in exchange for an honest review.I was a little skeptical about a diamond coated thin fiber disk wheel, but decided to put it through a series of test on very hard materials. I first tried it on 1/8″ glass plate and ground some flower shapes and tree leafs. I ran my Dremel 4300 rotary tool at a speed of between 10 -15 (10,000 to 15,000 rmp). it moved smoothly and cut aggressively into the glass. No vibration. In about 5 min. I had my ground flower. Next I tried it in a high carbon steel drill shank. It cut right through it like it was butter. I still was a bit afraid of vibration, but again there was non (run speed was 20,000 rpm). Next I tried grinding on some quartz rock and was sup prized that the wheel still was working aggressively even though this rock had sharp crevices and imperfections in it. I ran the wheel at 10,000 rpm so as not to take chances. I never added a water drip while cutting. The wheel still has a lot of diamond particles on it after all my rough treatment. I held this wheel usisng the Dremel EZ402 Mandrel which probably accounted for the smooth concentric operation of the wheel. I am very impressed with the EZ545HP Diamond Wheel and hope to use it on some specific projects in the future. I wish that Dremel would also make a 3/4″ diameter wheel of the same material.

This is pricey accessory. Dremel sells an EZ kit with a number of attachments (including a mandrel) for less money. However, this is a beast of a cutter, so if you have heavy duty requirements it probably is worth it.I have used this on PVC pipe, wood dowels, and on a tin can I wanted to cut down. It did it all aggressively. Note that it is thick, so your kerf will be larger that most cutoff wheels. Obviously makes it stronger. Do watch the deflection the EZ mandrel may allow; you want to keep your cut straight or the spring will come into play. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

I have used this wheel to cut off old bolts that were too hard to remove. I have also used it for cutting plexiglass andregular plastic when I need to be precise. After using other metal cutting wheels I was impressed with this new diamond wheel multipurpose cutting wheel. With the ease of attaching with the ez lock mandrel and the variable speed dremel 4300 rotary tool I have this cutting wheel made life easier with cutting threaded rod for some projects. I also tested on an old kitchen faucet and it cut through copper pipe and steel with ease. Cutting through heavy duty plastic was also like cutting through butter.
