It is a decent scroll saw for beginners. Keep in mind that it uses pinned blades that has inherent handicap of not being able to use intricate inside designs. It will require getting used to blade installation. Do not go by what you see in marketing video. But you will get a hang of it. If you are looking for some real intricate carving, then go for saw like DeWalt.

We bought our moto saw on a whim about a year ago and have used it so much since I have no clue how we were getting by without it before. It has helped use with cutting foam and insulation for crafting projects with little mess and great precision. Although small, it packs so power behind the blade and can go through several layers of 10mm foam! We have also used it on pine wood and it did splendidly. We’re definitely fans of this tool!

Recently purchased after years of drooling at it, love that it clamps to any table, love that it can become a portable coping saw, the functionality is pretty good, with an obvious learning curve. The caring case and storage is super, and its pretty quiet unless you have it on an unstable table or your trying to push it harder than it can go. The unit is pretty stiff out of the box and takes some breaking in, the guide foot was super stiff, i actually though i was doing something wronge at first. As with most people i was irritated that i had to get the miter seperalty, purchased a genuine dremel part number, from a seperate site, it only fits in one side of my table. I do feel like this tool could be so much more, and like its a dremel Cinderella. With only 4 blade types, and not a whole lot of availability for them right now , it could use some accessories like, and adapter to make it pin less, some guides, skip blades, diamond round blade. I had to by Olson blades, cause these currently are sold out like every where. All in all its a good saw for small spaces, its works well, ive broken more blades because the pins were twisted than anything else.

Bought this MS20-01 Moto Saw and love it. Just the right size for me and my crafts. Able to move this saw around to various locations, which makes it excellent.

Super easy to use for someone like me who’s never used a saw before! I’ve only used it a handful of times so it’ll take some getting used to, but I’m confident it’ll accomplish the small tasks I need it for! Happy with my purchase!

Easy to put together. Simple and handy to use. Not great with metal, which is what I was hoping for.

I suspect most of the reviews that witness poor cutting quality, blade not tracking straight, work vibrating, blades getting stuck in work and blades breaking frequently, most likey have the blade installed upside down. There are 3 ways to get it wrong, and one way to get it right. The teeth cut in one direction. The cutting edge/tip of the teeth should point down towards the base, and of course facing away from the arm, towards you as you feed the work. Unless you are using blade MS50, it can be installed facing left or right with the cutting tip of the teeth down towards the base. The blade has more cutting power as the motor pulls the blade towards the base. The overhead spring returns the blade upwards for the next power stroke down. If the blade is upside down, the overhead spring pulls up as a weak cutting stroke or the motor pushes the blade up causing the blade to flex, stick, not track straight or have a lot of waste material build up on top of the work, instead of under it. So, if you are having those problems, on any scroll saw, check the direction of the blade teeth, or simply flip the blade end for end and try it again. As with a coping saw, the teeth should cut on the pull stroke, not the push stroke.

the corded tool would not work for miniatures: way too bulky for a 90 year old woman to handle Please tell me how I can return the big corded one? to which store? Maggie Bock

This is not a saw for heavy cutting work but it is perfect for my needs and doesn’t take up much room on my workbench.

The one I received, the veritable speed control will move while in operation and slow down. Do not no if they all do that. So I give it average. I only used one blade with out vacuum hook to it, recommend using the vacuum because of saw dust.
