Great for hobbies and home improvement projects, the Dremel Saw-Max easily makes precise, clean and straight cuts in a wide variety of materials using compact cutting wheels. It’s 1/3 the size and weight of a typical circular saw so you have the capability of tackling plunge and flush cuts with one hand. A lock-on button makes it even more comfortable during extended use. The worm-drive gearing system means you won’t sacrifice power either. It offers a high level of control and depth of cut so there’s no need to haul out another saw to finish.

Loved the ease of use and how simple it was to actually follow a drawn straight line without any guides. Small enough to handle with one hand and very nice smooth cuts on wood. Can’t wait for spring when I can get outside in the garage and use it more on numerous projects.

Love this tool. I bought another for my son. The only thing I didn’t like is that the cord gets in the way when you need to cut close to the ground. I’m not good at turning tool upside down to make the cut.

I purchased this saw to use in my shop. The weather has not been warm enough to be able to use very much, but what little I have used it ,works great plus 4 blades,I’m sure it will get a lot of use.

Great saw, will perform tasks no other saw can do.I think it receives some bad reviews because it is being used as a regular 7.25 circular saw. It is designed to get into tight places with little or no kickback and cut just about anything. it is NOT made to cut 48 in pieces of plywood or stone.

Easy to use for me being a novice with tools. Looking forward to using this tool. Many cutting discs to use and highly recommend this tool!

I used the saw to cut a piece of plywood and went right through the wood fairly easy.

Its a good little saw. It seems very versatile and easy to use. Very powerful. The blades are labeled for what they should be used on and changing them is a snap. I bought the saw because I had many small drywall cuts to make and was dreading manual the effort. It turns out it wasn’t really so well suited for that purpose, at least for me. It worked for sure and was easy to use, but the dusty mess was not worth the savings in effort over manual cutting with a hand saw. Perhaps with a different vacuum and hose to attached to it, it would be worth it, but not with my vac and inside my house. I read previous reviews that said as much, but I guess I downplayed them in my mind. Its very messy with Drywall. But does seem like a good product overall.

Flush cutting 1×6 on a 70 year old house. This dremel choked. On the new kiln dried wood, this thing shines. Returned for the SawMax Ultra Version.

I’ve used it several times and found it to be lighter and easier to use on smaller jobs when a heavier circular saw is too much. I only wished that there was a rechargeable batter powered version.

I have now used this tool a few times and like it. Used it for cutting Hardi-panel, cutting and trimming up plywood flooring for my shed and even cutting treated wood balisters. It does flush cuts better than anything and you can get the hang of it pretty easily. Cutting plywood is a breeze, as would T-111 siding. When you cut a 2×4 or treated wood balisters (2×2), then essentially you are scoring the wood and have to follow up with a skillsaw, hand saw or circ saw.The advantages are that it is light weight, easy to use and not super noisy like a circular saw. You can cut with this without really having to wear hearing protection, but I cant do that with a circular saw.Disadvantages – I lost the hex key that removes the locknut, then tried to find the best match from my socket set to remove the locknut. Now, my locknut is boogered up a bit. This is my fault, but I wish the product came with a small wrench to fit the lock nut, as my Rotozip had. Also, nowhere in the manual does it state what size the locknut is.The other disadvantage is the blades are expensive, and now that Dremel has come out with a new Ultra Saw Max, which has a wider (larger in circumference) blade, this tool is almost obsolete. As an example, I was unable to buy Saw Max blades at my local not-Home-Depot HW store, when I stopped in. All they had was the metal cutoff blade. They had the new Ultra Saw Max in stock and ALL of the 4″ blades for it; so it appears that this tool is now obsolete. So, my suggestion to anyone buying this, is that if you are not on a budget, spend a little more (about $30) and get the Ultra Saw Max, as it is nearly identical but the blades are larger, so it will cut more stuff. Like 2X4s, and balisters, and such.

Price was good and performed as expected for the small job I had. Looking forward to seeing what else it can do with slightly bigger projects.

When I ordered this product I thought it would be a bit smaller .. it is really heavy duty.. the trigger is something you have to get use to but all and all it works well. Cuts thru wood very good has plenty of power.
