At first glance I thought the Saw Max would be bulky and I thought the it may be a hassle to turn it on/off with the switch design. I was definitely wrong on all accounts. I used my saw max for the first time helping my daughter install a laminate floor. This saw was perfect for the job. I absolutely love this little saw. I originally purchased it to make wood projects but I can see I will be using it for much more. Great, great, great tool. I will also comment on Dremmel’s customer service. I was very impressed with this company and give them a thumbs up!

Bought this to cut through an old plaster wall and have now used it on two kitchen installs. Its perfect for cabinet cutouts for plugs and venting . As a carpenter I was leery of the carbide blade for cutting wood, but it works great. Its the perfect companion for my Dremel Multi Max. I purchased two complete blade kits, thinking that the blades may wear-out quickly , but with two full kitchen renos of plaster removal , flooring alterations and trim modifications with this tool, i’m still on the first blade. With the flush cutting blade i can now cut tight to the back of a cabinet for microwave range hood fan venting , where a jigsaw cannot reach and the Multi max takes too long.

I bought this tool and a part wasn’t in the box and the customer service at Dremel was beyond outstanding and amazing and usually others company’s aren’t accommodating anymore but Dremel is. I love love my new tool and as a female who cuts wood and makes things I really wanted this tool. It fits amazing in my hand and now I want to cut everything with little to no dread or worry. Buy this saw and yes it can cut just about anything for such a small saw it has a great deal of power. I’m going out to try my new blades now. Happy saving folks Buy this saw

I have the Dremel SM20 Saw Max and LOVE IT! I have used it mostly for wood working and a little bit for cutting re-bar. I do have an issue with finding an attachment for the dust port. Seems as though it is a common issue. Can someone point me in the right direction.

I love using this saw and have found multiple uses for it everywhere around the house. It fits in my hand great and is easy to manipulate. My only disappointment is that there is not a good 3″ saw blade for pressed board. The saw blade for wood does not have sufficient teeth to really cut through the wood. I tried finding a saw blade but the 3″ size just is not available. I WISH Dremel would once out with a new accessory saw blade with teeth!!!

This is a fine product at an unbeatable price. Shipping was very fast. Has done every cutting job encountered so-far. Wish it had an add-on handle like the ultra saw, but that’s the only drawback I’ve found. Still, it’s very efficient for small projects.

I have used this tool to cut a few things so far and it has performed very well. I’m working on a bathroom project where I used it to size tiles, wood. It provided a very fine/accurate cut and really helped speed up the project! Thanks Dremal for Excelent tool!

I work with plastics and we have used this tool a lot. We also bought the bigger Dremel Ultra saw because we thought it would last longer than the SM20 saw. I burn out about 3 to 4 units a year just cutting 0.093 plastic. The main reason we liked this tool was its flush cut ability so we made fixtures specifically for the SM20 saw. The down fall is that the tool heats up and burns out. This tool is not made to do a lot of repetition, you really need to let it cool down between uses. So since the smaller saw was burning out we bought the Ultra saw thinking it would have the same flush cut height, but it doesn’t, this was very disappointing! I think the product is great but I do not advise buying if you have to use the tool a lot. Dremel needs to come up with an air powered tool like this or make the smaller tool more robust. If Dremel wants to develop an air tool I would love to help test any new product.

It cut through 5/8″ laminated counter top with no issues, even managed the rounded edge with a nice smooth cut. Love it!!!

Only used it for a couple of small jobs so far, but it was the only tool I had that would work in the space provided.

I bought the Saw-Max several days ago to help in installing laminate floor and trim molding. Well worth the price! As modeler of train layouts I can see alot of uses for it in constructing everything from the platform, to tracks and modeling buildings!
