I’m the main operator of a small renovating business in Western Pennsylvania. We buy, renovate, rent, and sell homes. Typically, during a renovation, I move four or five wheeled job boxes full of power and hand tools into the job site.I bought this saw for a specialized task, to do controlled wall and ceiling plunge cuts into plaster and drywall, bigger and heavier jobs than what I typically use a RotoZip for. This saw does reasonably well at that job, although the abrasive cutting blades wear down quickly. But that’s not really what this saw is for. This is the kind of multipurpose tool the average retiree condo homeowner with a bit of a yen to do common household tasks might buy. It does a lot of things reasonably well, but not as well as the specialized tools designed for that task. Basically, it’s a mini circular saw with the capacity to be turned on its side and be used as a grinder. At 13,000 rpms, it’s a bit faster than the average angle grinder and much faster than the average circular saw.One thing I would caution anyone buying this saw on — the literature shows using the machine to grind up thinset mortar around a drain and undercutting doors for new flooring installations. Don’t do it. Use an oscillating tool instead.

Used the saw to remove plywood sheathing on a remodel job. Very pleased with its operation. Has good sight line visibility when cutting and nice power. Bought it to replace a battery powered panel saw that is just about worn out. Power cord has a decent length and no longer have to worry about batteries wearing down.

This was a gift for my amazing handyman son. He loves it. My only criticism from a buyer’s perspective is that when I ordered this online it was advertised as the saw came with a carrying case. I found upon receiving and talking to Customer Service that it didn’t even though it was advertised.

Great multi tool to have in the shop. Not only can it be used to cut wood, it can cut metal too. You can use it as an undercut saw as well!The Dremel Ultra Saw can also be used as a surface prep/grinder when you attach the blade included in the kit. My only regret is not waiting for the cordless version….I hate cords!

I bought this saw to cut plywood to board up a broken into plate glass door. It was perfect. The power was great and you could easily see where you were cutting. The depth of cut is small, so I would make sure that you do not need to cut thick pieces of anything. It is so hand because it is powerful but simple to handle.

I bought this to cut cement board which it does very well wish it included a vacuum bag but it is an option if i can find one !! But it is much safer than the other hand tools i was using to cut the cement board much easier to control so i guess aim very happy with my purchase !! I would recommend this !!

The product works really good. Lot easier to handle than a skill saw. The handle could be a little smaller for good manipulation for a person to use that has smaller hands. The position of the safety switch could stand re-examination but overall, it is a very good & useful tool. Dremmel has always had outstanding products.
