I have never used Drill America Brand Masonry Bits before or any drill bits they make, but so far I am a fan. They seem to be of great quality and cut very well thru brick and concrete and eject the majority of the drilling dust as you drill to lessen it filling up in the hole your drilling.I used these SDS bits with a Milwaukee 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1 in. SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Drill to put up s new hose reel on our brick house and they cut thru the brick super easy and look fresh and new upon completion of the project.

This set covers the basic sizes you’ll need for drilling anchor holes. It also includes a tough plastic carrying case. The bits are rugged and well made. No real signs of wear on the holes I have drilled so far.I used the 3/8″ and the the 1/4″ bits to install 15 to 20 anchors for a project I am finishing up in my workshop and the bits worked well. Went through the concrete with no problem. The carrying case should come in handy too. I always seem to lose the smaller bits well before they are worn out.

I put the 1/4 inch in my milwaukee SDS D handle and drilled through breeze block. Okay not a real test. So I took a scrap of marble top and pushed through it. Still not a great test but woah, what a clean hole it made. Now the granite top. Still pushed through. Sure it the granite pushed back, but it made a nice clean hole. Exchanged the 1/4″ for the 1/2″ and it was still a pretty fast and clean hole in the granite. Good carbide tips and solid high tensile steel. Jobsite worthy at a great price.

Quality cutting tool but a bit more pricey than the competition. I compared this Drill America SDS plus set to my Bosch (German made) bits I found the performance of the bits on par with each other. Both bits when new, start easy, without much walking, and fly through 5000 lb concrete with ease (drill/hammer mode). Time will tell how these Drill America (USA/Japan) bit hold up but after drilling 25 holes there was no slow down or signs of wear on inspection (boy, the bit got hot!). This set has four 4” drill depth (3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2-6” length) and 1 duplicate 1/4” bit that is just 2” drill depth. I would use these bits primarily for concrete anchors. They are too short for most rebar insertion applications. This Drill America set is nearly identical in dimensions to the Bosch Bulldog set (HD # 203359094) but the Bosch set is 15% cheaper. If they were hanging side by side on the shelf I would chose the Bosch because they are cheaper and perform the same. Still at under $5 a bit these are a good value. About my rating:5 stars – Exceeds all expectations. Better than the competition in all aspects, design, cost, operation, and support (A+). 4 stars – Nicely done. Better than the competition and solves the problem. (B)3 stars – Works as expected. Has some shortcomings but gets the job done. Might be short in design, cost, longevity, or support. (C).2 stars – Falls short of expectations and needs improvement. Pass and look elsewhere. (D)1 star – Fails miserably. Does not get the job done, might even make things worse. Someone at the company should be fired. (F)By the way there is nothing wrong with average. News flash: most of us are average, contrary to a culture where everybody gets a trophy.

I am building wine racks that are mounted in actual mountain stones. I have already gone through several different bits so I thought I would give these a try. I like the SDS bits because they are easy to slip into my Hilti masonry hammer drill. I have used these to drill several holes in my mountain stones and so far they are holding up pretty good. I fell the best way to save a bit is to keep it from over heating, so I keep a cup of cool water near by to dip the bit into occasionally. I would recommend these bits, but I don’t think they will last forever drilling through stone.

These drill bits definitely get the job done. I have drilled several holes with the 1/2 inch drill bit, and each one drills as easily as the first. I am using them in my Bosch hammer drill, and the SDS-plus system is the only way to go. I love that you can swap bits in seconds with no need to use a chuck key. These bits are very durable, and I hope to drill dozens (or hundreds?) more holes with them. A+

Nice set of sizes from ¼” through to ½”You get 5 SDS bits with the following four diameters:1/4”3/16”3/8”1/4”All 6 inches long. The fifth bit is another 1/4” bit that is 4 inches long. They come in a plastic puich that could be easily discarded as the size of each bit is stamped on them, and the pouches just take up additional space in the toolbox. They fit easily into my Milwaukee hammer drill. Time will tell how long they last.Note these require an SDS drill, they will not fit well into regular rotating drills. There is no indication of where they are made.

I have more then one SDS-plus hammer drill, and I like to have a basic set of bits is each one. This set looked like it would fit the bill for my 12 volt hammer drill. But in my usage, they seamed to drill a bit slower then the my other set. This is purely subjective, as I didn’t preform timed tests. They are a nice set for drilling anchors. But you can get the same quality for a lower price in other brands. I was expecting more from them. They work well enough that I wouldn’t exchange them, but I wouldn’t buy them again.

I am working with this 5 Piece SDS+ Hammer Drill Bit Set, by Drill America, on a guard rail post installation. The set includes 6 in. long 3/16 in., 1/4 in., 3/8 in., 1/2 in., and a shorty 1/4 in. SDS+ bits. The quality manufacture is evident at first glance. The bits drill straight and true in concrete with high aggregate content. I worked them hard and they continued to drill properly. I haven’t had a need for the shorty, but I haven’t worked in close quarters with a neex for a 1/4 in. bit yet. Time will tell the longevity tale. So far I have a happy face. Please nots: these bits will not work in a conventional drill chuck!

Used these with my Rotary Hammer to drill into the foundation slab. Used the 1/4″ to secure new stud wall and the 3/8″ for the mounts to an 80 gal upright compressor. They did quite well but I held back on the quality rating by one point simply because I can’t verify the long term durability yet. They sure show all the signs of being quality and better made than the cheap basic set I had before. The set is for SDS-Plus mount bits and includes a 1/4×4″ and 6″ bits in 3/16, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2-inch sizes and come in a convenient pouch.
