This hedge trimmer replaced my old corded hedge trimmer that I’d had since 1974. With the corded hedge trimmer I always had to be careful not to cut the cord and it lacked the power to effectively cut my shrubs. This new battery powered Echo easily cuts through most of my shrubs and makes hedge trimming a breeze. I especially like not having to use long extension cords to trim shrubs hundreds of feet from from my house. The only drawback is that it is a little heavy so taking occasional breaks is a good thing. I give out before the battery does. It’s about the same weight as the gasoline hedge trimmers but you don’t have the hassle of dealing with mixing gasoline and emptying the tank after each use so the carborator doesn’t clog. This Echo 56 Volt Hedge Trimmer is ready anytime I want to touch up some shrubs because the battery holds a charge for months at a time. Great product.

I have used the trimmer three times and have yet to run out of battery power. The last time was for over 2 hours and it still had two lights on the indicator. It is so quiet compared to my gas powered trimmer and I think the cutting power is even better. So much less clean up time as well, no gas or oil smell. Very pleased.

Okay – this is my 3rd Echo 58V tool, I got the blower and then the string trimmer….and now this! I just used it for the first time and I am impressed. I find it reciprocates slower than my old electric hedge trimmers but this is actually a good thing. Slow and powerful gives me a cleaner cut with out a lot of smaller fragments that I have to clean out of the garden beds. I also feel I have a lot more control over this unit over my old electric unit. I do have both 2AH and a 4AH battery. I like using the 2AH battery because it is lighter — I did my entire yard with the 2AH so capacity was not a problem. Thanks Echo – you got a winner on this one! I’m thinking maybe a 58V chainsaw next?!!!!

I have always used Echo gas powered lawn equipment. i did not have a hedge trimmer. i am going green from here on out. i was looking to purchase a Husqvarna trimmer until I saw the Echo battery power tools at Home depot. fell in love with the grass trimmer and the power it had. I said the hedge trimmer must have the same power. you know what it does. purchased it last month and I am glad I did. it has just the right power to cut through heavy brush 3/8″ thick. the added weight of the trimmer is needed to help with steading the cutting. there is very little vibration. runs smooth in the heavy cutting. it is very quiet. the blower and grass trimmer are on my list next. good job Echo going green.

Easy to use out of the box. The only thing about it is that it is heavy. When trimming tall bushes above shoulder height it is easy to get tired.
