I have been using this Echo brush cutter/trimmer for 3 1/2 years now, on a weekly basis, on thick brush and weeds, and have never had a problem. It powers through grass, thick bushes, and even small trees 1 1/2 feet thick or less (with the chain saw attachment) effortlessly. The main advantages over gas engine versions, are it is quiet, virtually vibration-free, powerful, great battery life, versatile, reliable, and light-weight. I can’t take the heavy vibration, the very loud engine noise, and the dangerous engine exhaust from the gas engine versions. The main advantages over the other brands of battery-powered trimmers are it is far more powerful, much more reliable, and has way more battery life. I can work for several hours on one charge. It also has a large number of attachments available. I highly recommend this ECHO 58-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless String Trimmer. It is the best!

Well balanced, relatively light. Lots of power, even on the slow setting.Only downside is the string rotates in counter-clockwise rotation which throws a lot of debris back at the user. Maybe for an average right handed user like me. From what I’ve read this is common with straight shaft trimmers for safety reasons. Probably have to get used to straight shaft after using a bent shaft for so long. Was a little disappointed it only comes with a 2Ah battery. Website is wrong. Battery size is in the part number.

So far this trimmer has been excellent. The charge lasts a long time and it has lots of power. It is a little big & heavy for me, but I can manage it & I love it

These string trimmers are excellent. We have 4 of these and have been using them for right at five years now. The trimmer has two speeds (Turtle and Rabbit). They have plenty of power to cut through the thick stuff in rabbit mode and will cut through your normal trimming needs in turtle mode. Anytime some one uses it and has never used a battery powered trimmer they are always impressed. I would recommend having a spare battery as it is frustrating to have a little ways to go and your battery go dead just short of completion.

Like the convince of battery power virus’s gas powered

The trimmer was so light and smooth delivering constant power that I didn’t realize that I’ve been using it for 30mins. The trigger response is very smooth and its so much quieter than my old gas trimmer. Best thing I like about it is that I travel a lot for work and its easy enough that my wife can operate it. No having to fuss with gas/oil mix and pull strings.

I bought this a little over a month ago, and I LOVE it. It is soo powerful and will rip through anything. Just as strong or more powerful than a gas trimmer without the stink, the gas, the oil, and the noise. Its heavy and very solid, but Id rather that then light and flimsy.Best trimmer Ive ever had.

Bought this one after a poor experience with the EGO 56V and ECHO 58V beat the EGO in every way, so don’t waste your time and money with the EGO! Get this one! The Bump feed is seamless, its light and built solid! Awesome!

I purchased this Echo unit about a month ago and initially did have a problem since it would run only for a few seconds and then quit. A friend who had one said to make sure that the battery was properly set into the housing since he had this problem. I did and since then if I have the same difficulty I take out the battery and then reinsert it and not problems. It is very powerful machine and so much quiter than my old 2 stroke gas trimmer. It would be nice if one could attach a cutting blade.

After reading the reviews I was a little bit skeptical but I went ahead anyway and bought the trimmer and I’m very happy that I did. The ease-of-use and the POWER really blew me away!I haven’t had the shutdown issues mentioned below so I can’t speak to that. I really love this tool, great addition to my garage and a happy wife now that we don’t have 2foot grass bordering our lawn… And you know what they say about a happy wife.Couldn’t be happier with this product. If you’re looking for a trimmer, look no more. This is the one for you.

Saw a demo of the trimmer and was convinced to take a chance.Trimmer is longer then I expected, but I think that’s the new trend. It looks and feels very professional and I think it would serve useful for even the pros landscapers.I blurred out my face, but believe me…I’m smiling ear to ear!

No more mixing gas for me, I am very happy I made the switch to battery powered. The Echo 58v has more than enough power to tackle tough areas of my property along with enough battery life to finish both front and backyards. I was also very impressed with its solid construction, and its bump feed works great. This is my first Echo product but definitely not my last.

Really surprised with some of the other reviews on here…I think the trimmer is fantastic and so easy to setup.I was originally researching between the Ego or the Echo, and I’m so happy I choose the Echo 58V trimmer.Firstly, I never have to feel like I’m dislocating my shoulder just to start a gas trimmer ever again! This trimmer equals or beats in speed, power and torque of my gas trimmer. I have only praise for the overall cut performance and its simplicity. As for battery; I never worry about the charge not lasting for the entire job. I haven’t tried but I’m sure I can even use the trimmer for more then one session on a single charge if I wanted. Though, I’m most happy that carrying a 58V battery powered trimmer was much lighter then I expected.Only debate now is I feel like I made a commitment to Echo and need to wait for the lawn mower to go on sale.

It”s light, well balanced and solid. This trimmer is just as good as my old gas trimmer, without the annoying cord pulling for 30 mins to get it statred. I didn”t think the battery would last, but it did the job. I can”t wait to try some other Echo products.
