It features a 55 in. shaft length 7 in. less than the GT-225 weed wacker model. The Speed-Feed 400 cutting head reloads in seconds without disassembly, making it easy to give lawns a manicured look efficiently and quickly. Nothing worse than going to do something and not having the equipment start! I bought this trimmer because my Husqavarna purchased last year required a lot of pulls and I couldn’t get it started. I chose Echo because someone left one behind in a house I owned and after it sat for a few years it still fired right up. Unfortunately I gave it away. This trimmer started right up in a few pulls! Only change I would make is put heavier string in it.

Easy start, low vibration, good balance, relatively quiet, works well for edging. Uses .105 dia. line which by itself makes the purchase worth it. Could be lighter, gets a little heavy finishing up a large corner lot.

The extended shaft makes it easier on the back when trimming. I am a 6’1″ guy and I am not having to hunch over anymore. I only wish it had a twist and edge like my old weedeater brand. Will have to get used to turning it upside down without moving handle when I edge the curbs.

It cuts a nice path for trimming. When the spool was somewhat empty, probably another trim or two, the line would not feed. Messed around with it to see if it was hung up inside somewhere, nope. Just respooled new line and its been fine ever since. I bought it online and at 5’4″ its a little long for me. You need to hold the safety and the trigger at the same time and it gets a little cumbersome. Does it do a great job yes, would I have bought something a little smaller/shorter if I was in the store, yes.
