Starts easily and the bump-feed works great.

I ordered the echo Gt225L, this is the long shaft trimmer but it should be considered the standard,it is just the right length for someone 5ft 9”.It has the speed feed line head and the gas tank guard. The curved shaft and CW rotation make it easy to use.Great trimmer and easy to start.

My old trimmer was so old, replacement parts were no longer available. After much online research and trips to several local Echo dealers, I decided on the Echo curved shaft trimmer from “home depot.com.” Be aware that there are two versions of this trimmer. The only difference between the two is the shaft length. My local Home Depot store only carries the shorter length model, while ‘home depot.com” has the longer shaft model. I am tall and the longer shaft model was a better fit for me. This trimmer is far superior to my old one with two very obvious exceptions. First, the plastic string guard is too wide which prevents the operator from tilting the trimmer from side to side without scraping the ground. Although not recommended, I had to completely remove the guard to make the trimmer more versatile. Secondly, the handle cannot be tightened enough onto the shaft to keep it securely in place. Since the handle is made of plastic, you risk damage if tightened to much. Overall, this is a good product but be aware of the two design flaws that I have discussed above.

I’m happy with the unit so far-had a bit of a problem with the safety shield ( fell off_)-tighted the nut more and now all is well

Very happy with my new Echo Trimmer. I’m 6’5″ tall and the extra long shaft has been a lot more comfortable than the normal short ones. Seems to have a lot of power and has been a pleasure to use. Starts on the first pull. I’m coming from a long line of cheap weedeaters and this is a huge improvement. If I had to find any fault, it is that the line does not feed when bumped on the ground…. but I’ve only used it about 3 times so far and maybe I need to be a little rougher with my bumping. I would definitely recommend this product.

A little heavier than my previous Echo Trimmer….but feels heavy duty/well made. I had a problem….one of the strings was inside and I had tale the bumper off and rethread it through the hole. Tricky at first but I think I got the hang of it. I am anxious to try the new reloading system where you cut out a certain length and then put it in wind it up….without having to take the bumper head off.

excellent weedeater. Only complaint is wish the guard shield was a little bigger.

Great product, have echo blower as well. Handle moves on you some. Need better weed eater line. The head comes loaded that is all you get. I bought a 0.095 line. Helps a lot. Safety guard is big and bulky. Gets in your way some. Curved shaft is good until you have to weed eat underneath something. So think about what your use is before you buy. But this meets my need. The main reason I bought this was because all of the echo commercial grade weed eaters rotate CCW. I am used to CW rotation. To me the head rotation makes a big difference on how I weed eat my yard and where the grass clippings fly off to.

Starting is a breeze and requires significantly less effort than some earlier Echo trimmers of 21.2CC. However, nylon trimmer line would not wrap/feed as User Manual (pg 36) described. Internal line spool came from factory installed up-side-down. Spool fits both the straight-shaft trimmer as well as the curved-shaft version, however, the spool turns in opposite directions in these models and must be correctly installed to wind/feed line as described/designed.

Great product. It is a little heavy and it took me a little while to figure out how to not scalp the lawn. I love the quick change line feature

Great power but head that distributes the line jams after short use, very frustrating!

I have only had this unit for about a month. I have had an echo weed eater before though and they have been reliable and easy to start and don’t die while idling. I also like the easy load string head on the is new one.
