I’ve only used the trimmer twice so far, but it seems to work well. Not quite as easy to start as reported to be in the reviews I read. Speed Feed string head will also take some getting used to. But once I get acclimated to the differences from my old trimmer, it should be just fine.

I didn’t get to use this trimmer for about a month after I got it due to a short hospital trip… BUT, I did this morning and I must say that it is the lightest, well balanced machine I have owned… EAST starting is an understatement and with the quick load head, what an easy task to reload the string….I would highly recommend this unit…

I bought the Echo because I have one before. Love the speed feed on the Echo because who wants to hassle with the spools. Always starts easy and does a great job.

I bought my first Echo weedeater about 20 years ago and got about 10 years out of it. Since then we’ve bought 3 of the other brands and can’t get but a couple of years out of each. I’m looking forward to another 10 years out of this machine. Lightweight and easy for a lady to start, I should’ve come back to Echo several years ago.

Dislike the speedfeed feature. Have a lot of weeds in my yard unfortunately. However does not have enough power to cut. The handle is made out of cheap quality and the guard is worthless. Buy something else. Should had bout weed eater without speedfeed feature. Buy the thickest wire to increase cutting.

Bought this trimmer to replace my 14 year old Stihl. This starts so easily and cuts so much better! I am amazed at the size of weeds it can cut with no issue – and, it comes with a 5 year warranty – for the price, unbeatable.

I have other Echo products and this is another great family product. Tackles anything with ease. To restring a major improvement from yesteryear and a breeze–a little challenge at first but since first restring a breeze.

It is light weigh which I enjoy. I like the winding head that makes loading string much easier. I don’t particularly like that the whole stringing process has to be redone if the string breaks off Flush with the head. I think a redesign could fix that problem.

This treamer has been the best that I have ever had. yes it did cost a little more than some of the other brands, but after 4 years it will still crank with the last years gas in it .just bought a new treamer head for it and it is like new again, you get what you pay for with this one.

I bought the1985 ECHO equivalent to this new(GT-160) and it finally died last year. This new one seems to be “true to form”, starts 2-3 pulls, and does a great job! This new one will probably outlast me. Recommendation: order it with the “Speed Feed” head to eliminate trimmer line replacement aggravation.
