This is a really good trimmer. I was able to cut thick grass and weeds on 1/8 of an acre within an hour. I tried to do the same with a Dewalt 20v battery trimmer and the battery would die after 15 minutes of work. I gave it 4 star for 2 reasons: it does not run on a Cold Start for some reason and the packaging of the trimmer is not so good (it came in a box that was beat up).

This trimmer has all the perks to be a top commercial level trimmer. But after two months of use the line feeder gets damaged. Having to stop multiple time to untangle the line adds stress and time to job.

It is meeting more than my expectation. I will recommend it to anyone.

I had a Stihl fs 70r. Everyone said stihl is the best so I bought one. Totally regretted it, engine problems only a year and a half after I bought it. Finally got fed up with it and bought the echo pas 225sb. Excellent product, great power and overall better. Do not let the smaller displacement size scare you, it has plants of power. 10/10 recommend.

It was a huge upgrade from my troublesome yard man ym21cs trimmer that keeps having carburator problems my echo has been easier to start and carry the speed feed head is great it takes less time load line and the engine has more power then any trimmers at big box stores that carry and has more features that cheaper products with fewer features do not have i will not buy other brands not even Stihl or Husqvarna Echo and Echo only my dad says its even the best

I’m 12 years old and I bought this. I have a little yard business and this is powerful. For 21.2 cc its really good. I do recommend this product.

Great machine overall with enough power to get the job done. Easy start exactly as the instructions state. No issues thus far, like everything else Echo I own.

I purchased this Echo 21.2 cc 17” gas trimmer to replace an old snapper gas trimmer that gave out. This thing is a beast compared to that old snapper I had. Highly recommend to anyone looking to replace an existing gas trimmer.

After trying two of the most popular and expensive electric trimmers on the market, including the one in the big red boxes, I bit the bullet and went back to gasoline. The electric trimmers are okay for grass, but not weeds and brush. And where I live, we are whacking brush and the weeds from rain, we don’t grow grass. And the terrain is too hilly and sloped to used a wheeled trimmer. The big, expensive powerful electric in the red box overheated and shut down after just 20 minutes. also, when it did work, it actually slowed down cutting through the bigger weeds. They simply don’t have the torque. And it was significantly heavier than this Echo trimmer. On the other hand, at least for the trimmer I picked, I mixed up a fresh gallon of fuel, primed the bulb 4 times, then 4 more times, switched to start mode, pressed the throttle and after 3-4 pulls in cold start the engine kicked over. I then switched from cold start to run, and on the second pull, engine started right up, idled perfectly, sped up perfectly and never stalled. I have used it on three separate occasions now and it starts and idles on the 2nd or third easy pull. No stalls. And it has the torque and power to handle big brush and weeds with the Echo black line installed. It did take a little learning on how to use the head to load line, but after trying 2 time to get it right, once I did, its easy. My only complaint is that on some times, the line does not feed out, then I have to shut down the machine, pull off head, reload the line and go back to work. This takes about 10 minutes. However, in all fairness to Echo, I don’t know of anything better out there.

No issue with unit other than it only takes Echo attachments. I have several attachments that this did not work for me. I returned product

Runs great, wish the protective head cover was larger to reduce/eliminate so much coming back at me when using.
