- Use a 50:1 ratio of fuel to oil mix for 2-stroke cycle engines, recommend using only fresh gas with a minimum octane rating of 89 or higher (mid-grade to premium) at all times
- 50:1 ratio equal 1 US Gal. 89 octane plus 2.6 fl. oz. ECHO PowerBlend gold oil or ECHO red armor oil
- Bush trimmer features a 21.2 cc professional-grade 2-stroke gas engine

I got this hedge trimmer because I hated dragging around extension cords for my electric hedge trimmer. I decided on the Echo brand after having a good experience with the Echo blower I had purchased. The Echo SHC-225S proved to be the right size for me. It is actually more comfortable to hold and use than the electric trimmer I had. The balance is good and it has no problem trimming any of the bushes I had. The price seemed kind of steep, but I am happy with the purchase and would do it again.

I bought this edger to do my own bushes but I wish it where sharper. Some bushes you have to go over repeatedly. The gas tank is a bit small so you have to refill often. On the other hand it is light and maneuvering is easy. It’s quite loud so I use ear protection. I probably should have purchased the SHC-266.
