Featuring a 20 in. shaft and 21 in. doube sided razor edge blades, this 21 in. 21.2 cc Gas 2-Stroke Cycle Hedge Trimmer is the perfect addition to your yard care toolkit. Each trimmer features a 21.2 cc engine that can power through large jobs. Includes an integrated vibration reduction system that works to enhance user comfort while using.
- Use a 50:1 ratio of fuel to oil mix for 2-stroke cycle engines, recommend using only fresh gas with a minimum octane rating of 89 or higher (mid-grade to premium) at all times
- 50:1 ratio equal 1 US Gal. 89 octane plus 2.6 fl. oz. ECHO PowerBlend gold oil or ECHO red armor oil
- Bush trimmer features a 21.2 cc professional-grade 2-stroke gas engine

I like it … money well spent.It works great for cutting through, and clearing areas of very dense, thick brush, brambles, and vines in SE Texas. Blades easily cut through green or dry brush 1/2 inch thick. Engine does not bog down under heavy cutting. I moved throttle grip and front handle to rear most position, for near perfect balance and usability. I removed and discarded the 10 inch toothed black plastic over the blades ( 2018 model ). The plastic teeth did not line up with the steel cutter slots, which would be detrimental to cutting efficiency. It was nothing but unnecessary weight and eye wash. I suspect someone behind a desk was adding flare …. lolEngine is reliable and super easy to start ( I only use pre-mixed canned fuel in my 2 strokes ).Extended reach design and balance require about 50% less effort on your back than a conventional clipper. Hunters / campers would find it very handy for clearing areas for stands, camp grounds, and shooting lanes etc.

Been kicking around what trimmer to buy. Read the reviews . I have only about 10 boxwoods and a few other plants to take care of BUT I also do some side jobs for family and friends. So very happy I went with the SHC-225S. First job I did were hedges that hadn’t been touched in years. Didn’t take long to get them back into shape. Not a lot of bending over or reaching overhead.Makes it easier to shape. Best of all no cord to cut through and plenty of power. Very happy with the purchase

I needed a more powerful hedge trimmer with an extension on it to essentially cut my current hedge in front of my porch in half. It was overgrown and it needed to be done (my wife had been complaining about it for years). I have a battery-powered Black & Decker hedge trimmer that works really well and is lightweight, however it is not suited for this job. This trimmer is heavier and harder to maneuver, but that is what I would expect when comparing a gas-powered extended hedge trimmer to a battery-powered standard hedge trimmer. It got the job done with not much trouble. I don’t think I’ll use this as my every day trimmer, but when I need to trim hard-to-reach places or thicker hedges, this is what I’ll use. I would recommend this product although I have only had it for a month. I purchased this based off of good reviews and I also own an Echo Chainsaw that I love.
