I purchased this in August of 2019 and I had to get used to this Echo since my old Craftsman of 17 years was starting to degrade. I have been using weed eaters (electric to gas) since I was 16 years old and now I am 43 three so I have experience using weed eaters. So within 6 months after use and when I was about to cut the grass the next time I noticed drops of oil on the floor. I was so disappointed because if Craftsman items were not headed towards the dumps I would have purchased one again like we did in 2002 that lasted 17 years. BTW the Craftsman weed eater was less in cost. vs this Echo unit. This was only maybe 6 months and oil problems.

I have 3 acres in the county with pasture land on the sides. This is by far the best Trimmer I have ed ever used. Power, balance, performance all are great. Starts on second pull. Cuts as fast as you can walk. Weight seems very well balanced. I reached with one hand up deep under some big cedar trees no problem. Most of th he time half throttle seems to be plenty for grass. However full throttle buzzes through weeds and such fantastic.

Good trimmer. Plenty of power. I did go back and buy a shoulder strap. This trimmer replaced an MTD which turned in the opposite direction. That’s not a big deal but you have to get used to it. The string guard is a little small but I still give it 5 stars.
