This is a killer machine. In the past, I used Homelite trimmers. When it was time for a new trimmer. I went with Echo and NEVER looked at anything else. Instead of mixing my gas and oil, I use Trufuel 50:1. One can will last me a season and runs this trimmer like a champ. I’ve had this trimmer for going on 4 years with no problems, cutting my entire yard, instead of using a mower I have to push. Yeah, it may take me a tad longer, but I can take my time. Restart is half a pull. I don’t think I’ve even change the plug on it, same one that came with it, never a tuneup either.As far as I’m concerned, this IS my yard machine..

I bought mine over 7 years ago and it has never failed me. I just put fuel in it, change the line when needed, and hang it up when finished. it has never needed service 1 time. I’m getting ready to buy another one so I can give this one to my grandson.

I upgraded from a Dewalt 20v battery powered trimmer. This Echo feels solidly built and the motor is powerful so I am happy there. My two complaints would be that it can only be turned on one side when edging or else it shuts off (this happens to be the opposite side that I am comfortable with, but hopefully I will get used to it) and more importantly it’s much harder to start than I would like. Takes a good 10 HARD pulls to start, and that includes following the instructions with the choke, primer, gas etc. I am not sure if this is normal or not.
