I had an old Craftsman Line Trimmer for well over 20 years and it served me well until the time is stopped working a year ago. Having it serviced, it worked again, but for three months and died again. Serviced one more time and once again, it lasted a few months and would no longer start. I gave up paying to have it fixed.Having bought an Echo backpack blower, I was extremely pleased at the quality, and reliability of the blower. I have had it for three years and it has never, ever, failed to start or run. It is a far better product than Craftsman is (What once was an excellent brand is no longer true). So I decided to replace the Craftsman with an Echo line trimmer. What a difference. First off, starting it is like starting my Echo blower. Same steps, same response, same motor sound. It runs great, restarts easily, and continues to perform well beyond my Craftsman. Plus it’s a lot lighter and is easier to manage.Pros: Runs like an Echo. Easy start, Runs well, lightweight. Easy to manage.Cons: I never liked any “auto-line feed” system. This has it, so the first thing I did was replace the feed head with my old Craftsman feed head. (Fits perfectly). Recommendation: If you are looking for a consumer line trimmer, Echo makes the best products around. They seem to last forever, have the same starting system (which is a plus, no learning a different system) and overall well built and easy to operate.

I have had the SRM-266 for about a month now and every thing is working fine. Line replacement is a bit of pain but I guess that is to be expected. Overall a good machine.

I love this trimmer! This is the easiest starting 2 stroke engine that I’ve ever used. I trim about 3/4 acre every other week with it. Great power. The only thing that could use some improvement is the handle. No matter how much I tighten it, it eventually works it’s way back to its happy spot. But if that’s the only thing I would change, this is an excellent product. I would definitely recommend this trimmer.

Very powerful good on gasLoading string is a breezeAnd I think I actually see less string being used with this machine, from my curved neck homelite weed wacker.A couple of nice taps of the nose and string will deploy nicely

Powerful unit. Cuts thick stuff with engine running practically a little above idle. My smaller 15 year old Echo trimmer (that finally died) had to be run at full throttle to cut the same material. I hope my new Echo lasts as long as my last one.

Hi, I’ve been using a stahl fs 36 for many years, no comparison to the echo srm266, lots more power, the black diamond cutting line is far superior than any of the plastic trimmer line on the market today, I cut through 1 to 2 foot weeds with about quarter inch woody trucks, just rev her up and there she goes. Only used it once so far but it saved me lots of time trimming a 3 1/2 acre lot, well worth it’s price!

This drill is the most reliable one on the market. We have about 6 of them, and the head is easy to replace when worn. The kick-back is less than others and the weight is light enough for me to handle.

Great little machine. I would have given it an excellent rating but it is a little on the heavy side.

Purchased about a month ago. I’ve used it several times to clear a ditch line. Stronger than my old trimmer(That was 6cc lather) and so much lighter. wish I would have bought an Echo years ago

Bought this unit to replace my SRM225 which I used for 12 years with no problems but always wanted more power. Wow what a difference the power to weight ratio is perfect, even after a full days work. It started on the fourth pull right out of the box. Now I find myself asking my friends if they need any work done

I bought this exact one from a dealer. I’ve bought many Echo trimmers over the years. Echo knocked this one out of the park compared to the old 266. I’m a pro landscaper the new 266 models are all I need.

Replaced an 8 year old Echo that worked flawlessly until I ran over the engine with my tractor. The newer model replace rubber lines with some steel, which I believe is better. I would highly recommend Echo equipment!
