I like the machine but it didn’t come with a harness. That is the only thing that I didn’t like.

This is my second echo trimmer, the first I bought about 8 years ago. I purchased this one because it’s a little bigger and more cc’s. Nothing was wrong with the first one. I can’t stress how much quality they are and run great with little to no problems. For the money you can’t beat it. I’m very pleased with echo products.

I’ve used Echo products for years and never has a serious problem with any of them. The 226 is strong an powerful, but I recommend using the shoulder harness when using it for long periods of time.

Have two other old grass trimmers that were giving me problems – not Echo brand. Got frustrated enough to go buy a new one. Decided on an Echo after some friends told me about the quality and reliability they experience with their Echo equipment. Besides use around the house, I also use my equipment to clear some trails of brush on some mountain land we own. After doing some research I settled on the SRM-266 model and also bought the blade kit. The first time I had a little trouble getting it started, a little to eager and didn’t follow the directions close enough. Anyhow, so far I’ve used it 4 days for 4 hours a day and it’s been working great. Ever since the first attempt to start it always tries to start on the first pull, turn off the choke and on the second pull it starts up and away it goes. This unit was a little pricy compared to other brands, but they must have faith in it enough to provide a 5 year warranty and that’s good enough for me. You get what you pay for.

I bought the SRM-266 as a replacement for a really old 4-cycle Craftsman’s Line Trimmer. (The Line Trimmer finally died after years of excellent service and could no longer be repaired)After using the Echo units, I found the unit works exactly as their blower backpack, which means it’s easy to start, runs great and has no issues starting cold or hot. Additionally, the Echo units is much lighter and much easier to move around and to trim a large lawn.On a downside, and this is a personal preference, it’s the auto line feed. I have never had good luck with auto feed systems and I see this being the same. So I replaced the head with a fixed line feed head and have had no issues.Would I recommend the Echo SRM-266 Line Trimmer? Yes, and any other product Echo produces. The backpack blower for the last few years has been wonderful, so I expect the line trimmer will be just as reliable and just and durable.

I bought this about a month ago, and we have weed rated under many miles of fence line on or farm. Some of the grass and weeds were over head high. And this machine powered right thru it with no problem

ECHO 25.4cc trimmer is a beast. I love it, easy to start and easy to re-string. This is my first ECHO trimmer and I will be purchasing more of their products from now on.

MUCH MORE POWER THAN THE SRM 225THIS ONE GOES THRU ANYTHING.
Winfield Turner (verified owner) –
My second echo purchase recently, it starts easy, lots of power in the 25.4cc motor, the black diamond trimmer line is way tougher than any other line I’ve used. Wacker through around quarter inch thick weed shafts on rock pile, just hit the gas. Trimmed around my 3 acre lot in half the time vs. my old stahl fs36. My power pruned has the 25.4cc motor also, worth the price. The question is, which Echo am I buying next?

Great trimming power for cutting thick weeds! And has plenty of power to attach a brushcutting blade!! Ive cut down trees with the brushcutter attachment with a 6” diameter with ease!!! The only bad thing is when your using the trimmer the guard dont stop hardly anything from hitting you!!
