Bought this to clean wooded hilly back yard with overgrown saplings. During summer can’t even see through them. Had a weed eater thirty years ago with a blade like this that I cleared an entire lot of small trees, but can’t seem to find one with a blade like this until I found this one. Just cleared entire back yard in an hour. Blade provided is rated for 3/4 saplings but I was wacking them down up to two inches quite easily. You can buy a higher rated blade if needed. Very comfortable to haul around with harness provided. If you pick up, be aware it comes in two separate boxes. Only handed one box when picked up and was offered a refund when I informed them this was only half of it. Fortunately the second box was located. Excellant tool.

The starting instructions were easy to follow and it started right up. I have done a lot of hand pruning on woodland trails and this brush cutter works like the Star Wars light sabers cutting through saplings is one easy swipe. I thought I missed one inch and a quarter diameter sapling but as I watched, the top part slowing fell over. The harness that it came with worked well in holding the weight and letting the cutter do its work. It ran for an hour on one tank of gas. I am calling mine “Light Saber”.

Wow! This thing is a monster. Cuts through everything. There is apparently another blade available to cut through even bigger stuff. It is bigger, heavier and more expensive than other brush cutters but it sure does get the job done. I am quite happy with it. It hangs at your hip (because of the weight of the larger engine) from a backpack harness you wear. I also bought the better harness as other users had recommended. I recommend it.

Love this piece of equipment. Assembling was about 30 minutes and then about 3 hours of making magic happen. Cuts like butter. Have about 4 acres of woods on the property and this guy is key to cutting walking and running trips. Premium strap made this a breeze to handle. Very comfy!

After three days use now, I’ve been impressed that I can get three or four hours of cutting on a tank of gas. The SRM-410U certainly has the power to cut through three to four stalks of 3/4-1” diameter brush, almost-dead Cat’s Claw and Scrub Oak, with a single swipe. It also cuts OK through 2-3” scrub oak, but there is a tendency for the blade to bind when cutting in from the “outside” of the tree, unless you make wedge cuts, or can get access to the core of the trunks. I’ve found that I need to swap/sharpen the 10” 80-T blade everyday, but I’m cutting in a 99% granite environment. I also tried the 8” 22T brush blade which cuts great for a short while, but gets dulled quickly with even minor excursions into the granite dust.I also purchased the 4 point premium shoulder harness which really distributes the brush cutters weight well. The only time I notice the machines bulk is when I’m opening the latch on the harness with one hand while holding the cutter by its support chain with two fingers while trying to get it secured into the harness catch. The SRM-410U looks and feels to be a top-quality product and has exceeded my expectations so far.

Purchased the unit after receiving a Timber Management Plan. Plan identified I needed to eliminate several hundred non-desireable saplings/trees up to 3 inches in diameter. So far I have approximately 8 hours on machine with no problems whatsoever, starts 1st or 2nd pull every time. Completely Satisfied

SEE Pics they do say what I can’t. Unit was easy to assemble took no more then 30 minutes with customizing for my “fit”. Started flawlessly and runs great. I have used it two days and must say I’m impressed. I’m not a tree guy or anything special just a normal 53 yr old. The harness that comes with the unit renders it almost weightless you will be surprised I was. Watch the straps/padding on shoulder they do tend to move down with movement easy fix safety pin. Yes, I’m tired it will work you. I have had this Echo for 2 days and am loving every minute. It took me awhile and if your reading this I read the reviews too and it helped me make my decision. I hope the pics help. 🙂 Good luck.

This tool made it possible to get the job done in hours instead of days. I did put a carbide blade on it instead of what it came with.

Does the job after you get a carbide blade for it. I was able to clean around my pond and all the over grown areas around my property. It is heavy and requires a little time to adjust the handle and balance point just right. I put the trigger real close to the shaft it just worked for me..

Easy to assemble. How to wear the harness could have been in a little more detail. Blade became full pretty quickly but great brush cutter at a reasonable price.
