It will get the 5 star in a couple of years if it lasts. Great product so far.

This machine is a great brush cutter, turns shrubs and small saplings into confetti with ease; it made quick work of the plants lining my driveway. Grass cutting is tough with this trimmer, though. It feels too powerful for the string head and lays waste the the grass so badly that it rips clumps out sometimes. I would recommend this for laying waste to bushes, but not for a delicate manicure of your putting green.

Seems to have plenty of power

Putting it together was a small chore, but, the machine does do quite a bit of work.

Bought around the 4th of July this year. Put together on 7-15 and run. This unit’s harness disconnect-connect is great. The blade changeover is great. I’m a homeowner, and this is probably more unit than most homeowners would buy, but I have a lot of trees and parasitic vines and brush to cut around them, so the trees don’t get choked, die and fall down on the house. Plus the grass trimming around the lawn needs a good machine. One caveat is that super humid and hot weather caused bogged-down power and acceleration and running rough. But next day ran normally and powerfully.

I bought this due to the large amount of blackberries I have to cut through every year. This goes right through them without any issues.

Have 300+ acres of forestry land to care for, continuous thinning and our chainsaws took quite a beating cutting the smaller scrub oak and Manzanita bushes. Tried the 410U with a Renegade carbide tip 120-tooth blade and it cuts 4″ saplings like butter. No more bending over with chainsaws. Saves my back! My only complaint is that it does not come with a Renegade type circular blade; I had to buy the blades elsewhere.

The best saw you could get i have a fs 131 stihl brand new that doesn’t come close!

Broke it in this past weekend…very pleased with the ease of use and performance…bought a forestry blade and it made light work of the brush I was attacking…
Bryce Stracke (verified owner) –
Easy to assemble and cuts great. Only complaint is that it is quite heavy, not for someone smaller to handle in the woods. Otherwise, it has lots of power and cuts great.

Great heavy duty trimmer and powerful brush cutter. Caution for users, I recommend the better made aftermarket padded should harness. I use a top end STHIL3 point harness and it works well. The unit weighs just under 20 pounds…the harness make the usage very easy.Starts easily, and has great cutting power. This ECHO model U410 is a beast! It may be ECHO’s highest cu inch engine at 42.7, and it really performs. It really blows thru heavy brush and small saplings, when the supplied ECHO 10″ saw blade is new…however the Echo blade dulls after about 60-90 minutes of run time. Replacement blades are recommended.Even though Echo does not recommend any carbide tipped blade use…I have invested in a 10″ tipped blade…and will update when tested. Also recommend using hard helmet/face shield/ear protection…you will never be sorry for being safe with this high powered cutter. Several sellers have very reasonable combo kits…my NEIKO set works fine. Long sleeves and brush hunting pants are my fav’s for thick/heavy weed/brush cutting and trail clearing. This ECHO unit met all my expectations!

This machine is of very high quality. It reminds me of equipment built years ago because it is heavy and solid. Hard to find good stuff these days. The 42.7cc engine has great power for cutting heavy thick buckthorne brush 3″ diameter. I like the 8″ chissle tooth blades the best.

The Echo 410u is an excellent brush cutter, if you use the right blade for the job. For small trees up to 3” in diameter a chisel tooth blade will last the longest however, this blade type does not cut the fastest. A carbide tipped blade cuts the the fastest but is easily damaged by excessive heat causing the tips to break off. Although, chisel tooth blades also suffer from excessive heat they tend to last 2 to 3x longer. Also, I have found that circular blades cut tall fair to poor. String cutters work best on grass.

The Echo brush cutter worked better than expected. I cleaned off a wooded area of small trees and brush in less time than I expected.

Well I only have this product a short time. I can tell you it is a very very good quality. Super easy to start as well

I got mine about a month ago. It will do the job. I have been clearing, hardwood saplings to open up some land. This machine, although not rated to do so, is cutting 3” plus oaks with one or two bumps. The small stuff, is no problem with little throttle. Great machine. Plan on buying another shoulder harness. I knew this ahead of time. The reviews on the harness are bad for a reason, it’s junk. But it is free. This review is on the machine, and it’s fantastic. I don’t think you would do better spending 3 times as much on the stihl.

Bought this to gut down all the new alder sapplings that come up each spring. I was not disappointed. Starts easy cuts fast.
