Generally I like Edimax gear. I am sure that Windows and Mac users will find this to be a good device. If you use Linux don’t buy it. They claim they support this device but they don’t. The only functional driver comes from a third party source and only if you stopped updating the kernel at 4.7. I don’t know about you but I am at 4.15 and counting. As I told them, that is not real Linux support. Their is conditional at best and even if it does work it cannot make use of dkms to keep up with kernel updates when they finally get past 4.7, which makes it a pain in the butt. Walk away from this one.

Edimax claims Linux support for this device. They have drivers, no README, no dependencies and it doesn’t compile. There is a link to a 3rd party driver on the blog. If your kernel isn’t newer than 4.7 then you will be fine. If you stay current well then you won’t be. They can only promise that they might get caught up in the future, maybe. They then told me the products I should have bought. They should disclose whether they provide FULL Linux support versus CONDITIONAL Linux support on their web site. I have liked Edimax in the past, not liking them much right now.

Didnt work for me. Bought it with the hope of boosting the speed on a slightly older, originally Windows 7, upgraded to 10, laptop. No idea why it didnt work, actually made my wireless speeds slower somehow! Returned.
