This is a really nice little tape for any job around the house. It goes to 16 feet, so that will cover just about any home need. The base of the tape is covered in plastic so it’s easy grip. There’s a little place on the back of the tape covered in a white plastic that can be written on in a moment of need. But the two really nice things about this tape are that it is opposite of most tapes. This one stays out when you pull the tape. It doesn’t retract until you press the button on the top. The other really nice thing is that the increments are marked with the fractional measurements on the tape! Also the 16″ measure is marked for stud measurements. Like I said, a great tape for home/garage use!

25 foot Empire works great.Tape – easy to read white background with 1/16 inch increments. 16 inch on centers are marked in blue. Pro – Extra large hooked tab, belt loop buckle hooks well, easy to use and responsive spring and stop. Not needed – every foot restarts with single inches. For example, 16 inches also shows a little 4 to denote 1 foot 4 inches.Con – The only negative about this tape measure is that the body is 3.25 inches. When measuring between things, I like to have an even number that I can add. Not a deal breaker, but I wish this was a 3 inch body and not a 3.25.

I received the Auto Lock Tape to test for Home Depot and it works fine. At the end of the day, it’s a tape measure and it does measure distances. The lock seems to work great and it is fairly light weight. The real test will come after it has been dropped a number of times and gotten dirt and saw dust all over. The only issue that may give me pause before buying would be that it’s only 16′. I would like that for just a few more cents, it could have been a 25′ which is much more functional.

Overall a really good tape measure. I can get it out to about 5.5 feet before the tape measure stiffness breaks. If i’m measuring anything that long though I can usually set it up against something or have someone help. It has a nice clip on it so it can attach to my jeans, and I see us using this tape measure mostly for around the house and smaller jobs. Overall I would recommend this tape measure.

I have really liked using this tape measure. It is my ideal size. I like the white tape because it gives a good contrast to the measurements. The tape feels good in my hand and easily expands and contracts. It doesn’t close with the speed and vigor of some tapes that feel like they are going to take off your fingers. I also like the chrome finish in the tape. It looks and feels good to the hand. I also like that it only goes down to 1/16 of an inch. Some tapes are just too difficult to read. This one is not.

I have a dozen or more tape measures of all different sizes and colors and shapes around the house and of course when I need one I can’t find one and go searching everywhere. What I have found in this Empire Tape Measure I would like to have in all my tape measures, solid nylon coated tape that won’t bend, AUTOLOCK feature that makes extending the tape measure out a breeze, 8 feet with this one. Big, strong, but compact and know where it is all the time because of the metal shiny metal body and this one has a lifetime warranty, not that I’ve needed it, Because I do tend to drop things all the time and this Empire has held up Great, love this tape measure !!

The Empire 25′ Auto Lock Tape Measure, works very well and is accurate. Has great features like fractional printing,marking surface,auto lock, clip for your belt or wall and 8′ standout. I marked the marking surface with a sharpie and used a little WD-40 and came right off, so pencil or pen will be fine.I would highly recommend this product. Happy Measuring!

This is a large size tape measure. It looks like it has a metal casing, but it is plastic so may not be that rugged for contractors. Other than that the quality is satisfactory. I liked the was they marked the scales on the tape. It has all different US units possible on it, which saves you from calculating smaller units. It has a spring slide on it, so the meter is automatically locked unless you press the button to release it

This tape measure for the price is pretty good. The tape is easy to read with large black print and bright white face. I don’t see this as a trades tape measure but a great around the house or throw in a car or purse for some furniture shopping. I keep this on my work bench to take quick measurements and planning but use my heavy duty for building /carpentry work. Again, for the price this is a very nice tape measure.

The autolock does work great but it definitely does not stand out 8′ as it claims. May be more close to 5′. The tape bends easily as well and needs to be more stable while holding out.

When you pick up the tape measure you can feel that it is well built. The tape itself is nice and strong and will go out 8 feet. The marking are easy to read and the highlighted blue quarter inch marks clearly stand out for even easier use. With the included marking pad, no need to remember the measurements, instead you can write them down. The autolock is a handy feature in that the tape stays out until you want to retract it rather than the other way around.

I ordered this from homdepot website a 30foot tape measuring tape and and received it and have been using it to get square footage of my gutted RV to prepair for the next part of this flipping project.The tape measure itself is heavy duty feel plastic chrome frame and sturdy tongue and quality well designed metal tape that is clear marked for precise measuring it also has smooth recoil spring and at 30 feet makes it the most useful out of all my previous tape measures this one is good for large job applications.

This is a high quality thirty-five foot long tape I intend on having for years based on my first uses. The housing is very smooth and the screws are recessed perfectly. I have a lot of twenty, twenty-five and thirty foot tapes but sometimes when I am alone on a job a longer tape is needed to quickly move through the measuring paces. I could only get the tape to stand out seven feet but that is still better than the other tapes I have. The nylon coated blade is also smooth and catches well when standing out or being used on the ground. Nice tape and a good quality value.

This tape measure is quite nice. I like the old school look of it with the chrome case, but it has a rubber bottom for better grip and handling which is nice.I really like that the fractions are on the tape and that there is a nylon coating for increased durability.This tape measure is different from most common types in that it ALWAYS locks and you need to press a button for it to return. So, essentially opposite from most others. It’s a nifty feature.There is a little piece of paper/plastic on the back that they say is for jotting down measurements – I think this is just silly but some may find it useful.The body is plastic that doesn’t seem terribly thick, and a fall from a 10 foot ladder would probably do this tape measure in. So just consider that when you make your purchase and the type of situations you will find yourself in while using this. It’s not flimsy, but not what I would call professional grade.That being said, I would not recommend for a professional or for frequent, heavy use, especially on ladder/roof, etc. work.For light, residential use or for use in a shop, this tape measure gives you everything you need.
