This is a thing of beauty. The Horizontal vial in the middle is very large and easy to read. The two rubber end caps are removable and a bit soft so should absorb shock well. Large handle holes allow for gripping while wearing glovesThe rubber rings around the round vials stick out about a 1/16th of an inch beyond the metal on one side for a better grip on vertical surfaces. The other side is flush so rests on the aluminum frame.both long edges are milled for extra grip. Includes a hanging hole but the included packaging has a nice hanger that fits perfectly in one of the handle holes so I will be using it to hang vertically on the wall. It wasn’t designed to be a hangar but it just works. Accurate to within 0.029 degrees on both surfaces. accurate to within .0005 inches per inch. .6 inches per 100 feet if my math is correct. The only con I can see is the weight. It is solid aluminum so a bit heavier but worth it if you need the precision over the long haul.

The 72″ Box Level from TRUE BLUE is very high quality with some great features. Features include shock bumpers on the ends to absorb the times you accidently drop the level. However, the feature I like the best is the high contrast bubble lines that are easy to read along with the feature that blocks the bubble from disappearing…which keeps you from guessing which way to move to get to level. The 72″ inch size is great for hanging doors, leveling walls when framing, and my favorite leveling posts when building a pole barn. For the bigger jobs you will want this TRUE BLUE level in your tool inventory.

This long level is made from aluminum and appears to be strong and sturdy. It claims an accuracy of .0005”/inch or half a millimeter over the length of one meter. There are a number of practical benefits with this level; there is a hole to hang the level when not in use, the vials are solid blocks of acrylic, the two outer vials are surrounded by rubber grips, handy for when the level is used on its side, there are two large grip holes and the edges are milled to provide grip. The high contrast e-band vials are generally easy to read but some backgrounds can make it a bit more difficult. The shock absorbing end caps work well and soak up a lot of the residual bounce – see video.

This six foot level is awesome. I absolutely love it. I checked used it when rebuilding a deck for a friend. It was then that i found out that my old level was not very accurate. The bubbles are very easy to see. The removeable ends are great for when you need to get tight in the corner. The handles are great as i am a bigger guy and have bigger hands. This level is great and would recommend it to anyone.

There isn’t a whole lot to say about a good level. When the level works correctly, the bubbles sit on center and the edges are flat and smooth. Out of the box, this level was exactly that. The vials are very readable, what with their blue lines and being embedded in white circles: easy to spot, easy to read. There are two handles that make holding the level vertically or horizontally very simple and less strenuous than gripping the level’s body. Weight isn’t too much of a factor either. An aluminum body is fairly lightweight, combined with the acrylic vials and rubber end caps there isn’t much to hold up.The removable endcaps are an interesting touch. I only noticed they were removable when I saw the small arrow on them. Pull on the arrow (which is the clip that holds the endcap on) and the end piece pops out. I’m not sure what you’d need that for, but I suppose if you damaged the rubber it could be easily replaced.I used this to help install a door frame and it worked well, certainly easier and more accurate than using a 4’ or even a 2’ level to install a door frame, which I have done in the past. I appreciated the rubber ends, too, so I wouldn’t have to worry about it sliding around or scratching the hardwood floor over which the door frame was installed. The primary blue color of the level is actually a good choice. Among all the wood and the red and black tools of my garage, it stands out and makes it easy to spot when I’ve misplaced it!No complaints on this level, it works great!
