As a contractor I use a lot of levels. I keep 3 or 5 on my truck all the time. These are a great buy, and both levels dead on out of the box. I check accuracy using a bosch laser level.

Both the 32 inch and 78 inch box levels are super durable. Unlike my old set which one warped and the other broke in half when I dropped it while using it, these two are made of aluminum and made to be light weight and last for a lifetime. Furthermore, I like that these two levels have shock absorbing end caps which are removable to protect against damage to the levels.

As a high end finish carpenter every foreman i work with has a full set of stabila levels. They are wonderful and when the time comes that i get a promotion, i will too. Until then, this set has no daylight showing through and is true when held to the incras. Another benefit is that for this price point i am a little less weary leaving the 78” locked on site at the end of the day. The 32” does not have a handhole just fyi.

I normally wouldn’t think that a level could have so many features that make it a unique tool but Empire 32 in. and 78 in. Box Level Jamb Set does.(1) Heavy gauge aluminum construction with machined surfaces(2) Rubber bumper on each end to stop you from breaking the glass when you drop the level.(3) Large padded hand holds to help you when leveling rafters or studs.(4) Strong magnets allows you to work hands free when setting metal studs, fence posts, etc…(5) The glass tube is egg shaped unlike most glass tubes that are ‘U’ shaped. Why is that important? Simple, you can lay the Empire level down on its side or stand it on its edge and the bubble will read true. You can’t do that with one that is just a bent tube.I have never owned a better set of levels. They are a good investment and will last so long that I can hand them down to my kids.

I am extremely happy with this level set. I have had small levels in the past, this is my first experience with the large one. Some of the features I found most appealing were: non-slip grips on both ends and hand grips to facilitate portability. The three acrylic vials are easy to read and are reinforced to prevent breakage. It has a large viewing window which makes it easy to read from multiple angles. And finally the magnets are strong enough to hold the level in place without fear of slippage, something I had an issue with other levels. Both levels are extremely solid and well made, and have come in very handy while remodeling my kitchen. I recommend this set to anyone professional or not. You cannot go wrong.

I’m a contractor and my 6′ level was stolen. While in Home Depot I checked the level of several brands (yes, you can) . This Empire (NOT the I-Beam, which is a bit cheaper) was the ONLY one that was level. Got home and re-checked it with a laser – DEAD ON. Unless you’re doing metal studs I’d stay away from the magnetic one – it only attracts chips and metal debris that could throw off your readings.Don’t cheap out and get the I-Beam – it’s not as true and doesn’t have machined faces – it’s only extruded. This is a box and has fully machined faces and only costs a few dollars more.I have a 40 year old 4′ level (been mistreated badly over the years) that we use as “The Bible”. My kid finally found a really faded name that these old eyes couldn’t read. You guessed it – Empire!

I have several levels but using these specifically for doors (just shy of 32” and 80”) made the install much faster and with better results.
