I’m renovating an older home and replacing all the door/jamb assemblies from the local big box store. These are the ideal set of levels for doing that. When shimming the hinge side (either side for that matter) you can immediately tell if the jamb is not flat and shim accordingly. I like the fact that the end are removable and made of a soft rubbery like material. This way it doesn’t mar or damage the hard wood floors. and helps protect the levels. I would recommend these levels if you’re replacing door jambs.

Used it immediately with tiling my shower wall. 6′ leveler came in handy for vertical line markings. 3′ leveler perfect size for side wall tile alignment.

This is a nice set of the most common levels you need for hanging doors. The levels themselves are bare bones without some of the nicer features of more expensive levels. I also found that the longer level was about 1/16 of a bubble out of level when you flipped or rotated the level, a common way of determining if a level is reading true. Does that small amount make a big difference? Probably not but it could lead to some frustrations during an install. And if you’re doing extremely detail oriented work (setting up a pool table for example) then I’d recommend you reach for a more accurate level.Pros:+ Affordable+ Durable: being so bare bones and knowing they’re not perfect I will probably worry less about protecting them. Which will be just fine for rough work.Cons:- Not perfectly calibrated to level and no way to fixIf you want to spend the big bucks on great levels or you want something that’s dead on perfect I recommend you go with something like the Stabilas at nearly double the price. If you need something for rough work this isn’t a bad choice, though.
