This is a good product and the reasonable price makes it even better. I had no problem using this guide to accurately rip 4×8′ sheets of plywood with a circular saw. The clamp to attach the two 4′ aluminum sections works just fine. Just must make sure the sections are held tightly together, end to end, when you securely tighten the screws. Otherwise I can see how it would flex under pressure. If assembled properly there is no flex at all. I bought and successfully used this product before reading the reviews. Surprised at all the negative comments so I’m adding this review. Just use common sense on how to assemble the clamp.

Used the guide with a circular saw for cutting 4 x 8 foot sheets of plywood. The handle from the guide must be removed when using a circular saw to cut longer then a 4 foot section because the handle is too high to allow the saw to get by the guide. This guide or any guide is a bit difficult to use on a sheet of plywood that is warped because the guide has to be pressed down against the plywood while trying to keep a circular saw squarely against the edge of the guide. This guide is made from an aluminum extrusion which helps to provide strength and rigidity without adding much weight. This cutting guide is made in the USA and is worth the price.

Good for making long rip cuts, just have be careful at the middle of your cut so that you dont flex the guide.

this is a simple easy to use tool that comes in handy for routing and cutting large pieces of material. and it stores very compactly. I highly recommend this item.

I have read most reviews, and read the gripes and down falls. Personally I think this is a great straight edge. But before you use take a small fine file and do the bottom edges of it to remove the very fine burrs. Once this is done there is nothing to scratch nice finished surfaces. Yes the small screws for the handle are a draw back, but when I’m done, I break it down and slide the handle down part way and set the set the screws again. What would be great, if it came with a couple velcro straps to hold the two pieces together when you want to store them. But if you make sure both mating ends are flush n square before setting the handle splice, it will work fine. I have read about some who say the handle needs to be removed to clear the saw. Set up the straight edge, so the saw fence clears. Remember to move the straight edge over to accommodate the saw fence n blade displacement. Just a few simple things to remember when setting it up, and you will get good results.

Ive been a carpenter for over 15yrs. Im not too sure why other people are giving this tool a bad review. As being A carpenter you always have to improvise. That’s what makes a good carpenter. Especially when you are purchasing a $20 tool. This works great!

Clean edge, works well for guide.

For the price it works excellent compared to the $200 track and straight edge

Very thin compared to a clamping system and that made it perfect for my Milwaukee battery circular saw.

First time user and glad I had it for cutting my butcher block counter tops.

using this straightedge in 4′ length is fine, however as has been pointed out the handle is in the way and must be removed when using in 98″ length. also when in the long configuration it tends to bend in middle, the mating piece should be longer to prevent this. I had to take a small board and brace it on the back side to keep it straight when doing full sheet rips.
