Got one of these several years ago – it is the same model except mine was blue anodized and had a plastic handle. The handle is easily removed (a couple of screws) to make it a lower profile so that a circular saw motor can pass over it. The two pieces line up pretty accurately when you join them together. I’m surprised at the negative comments about how it flexes in the middle when you use the full 98 inch length. No kidding! Clamp a bracing board in the middle to prevent it flexing, or use some tape, whatever … not exactly an insurmountable problem. I’ve used this dozens of times when trimming doors, ripping plywood, etc. Why spend hundreds on a fancy track saw system that takes just as long to set up when this simple straight guide is 95% as good.

Perfect too to make the job perfect.

I found this guide to be excellent. I had no issues with it flexing too much (added blue locktite to the machine screws). I used it with my Ryobi cordless circular saw to rip dozens of cuts in plywood without an issue. It also doubles as a rule for marking long lines, and I fully intend to use the opposite edge as a cutting guide for softer materials and a blade.

Was in desperate need of making long straight cuts. This was a very simple answer to my dilemma. Very inexpensive as well.

Clamps straight needs another clamp or way to tack middle

Time consuming to use but works pretty good for the price!

There is a small amount of flex but all you have to do clamp a one by to stop that…no big deal… the plastic handle is a waste of time as it will probably contact the motor on the saw. It is necessary to be able to saw in both directions and motor contact with the c clamps and the handle will happen. The handle isn’t necessary. I don’t use the c clamps. I don’t have a problem with the screws. If you can’t figure out that the screws are there and necessary then you probably won’t figure out how to use it anyway. Loosen the screws and put it together. Take it a part and screw the joining plate down to one of the sections. I don’t see loosing them a big deal. A special designed clamp would help this unit.

It works as long as you have a circular saw with the square table if you don’t have that it’s useless to use with a saw just Fork over the money and buy a track saw or use a table saw I’ll be keeping mine just for Straight knife cuts.

A cutting guide and more. I use it as a strait edge for drawing strait lines over 4 feet. I scribe counter tops with it transfor a level line from one cabnet to the next. The list goes on.

works well and is pretty sturdy for the price, no need to spend more than double on some other products.

A “handle” is used to join the two pieces. The joint is somewhat loose and the 2 pieces can slide apart.Much worse, the handle sticks up… when using with a circular saw, it WILL get in the way and you have to move the guide around!

This guide will bow under pressure toward the middle when used at full length. I use a board clamped at mid point to keep it from bowing. The stock is only .074″ thick and 2.2″ wide, which explains why it will bow without support. It’s beautifully and precisely manufactured and assembles easily.Included image shows how I support the guide to keep it from bowing.

Worked as expected, had to tweak a couple things, but as a carpenter I typically adjust most of my new tools to fit my style. I would recommend it.

I’m glad I read reviews before I used this product and braced the center of the guide with a piece of scrap wood and a third clamp when making 80″ cuts to trim some doors. I also removed the handle as I don’t see any purpose for it other than to obstruct a saw. This tool worked perfectly, and I have put a drop of loctite on the ends of the screws for the bracket to reduce the chance of them coming out of the bracket and getting lost.

Works pretty well. It is true that when the two pieces are joined with the handle, there is some slop. However, there are two screws provided that go into the edge of the joiner that remove all the slop. So it is quite rigid when the two screws have been snugged up. Stores easily overhead on some hangers. Care must be taken to not press hard against the guide, the metal will bow very slightly. However, I had no issues using this guide along the edge of a 5′ piece of plywood for some finish work with a router.

Light weight, cool blue, and sure beats an expensive panel saw setup. If you take your time to line everything up, and check twice on your long 4’+ rips, you won’t have any problems. Can you set it and forget it? Nah, but learn how to properly set it up, and you’re golden. Happy ripping!

Light, easy to use and much more efficient than clamping down a board.

Work as expected. Since it is a 2 piece tool, it has a little flex at the joint. However cuts are straight and clean and it fits in any truck or van

Much better than using a piece of wood or a similar item at HF. Very rigid. Used regular clamps instead of the included small c-clamps. The c-clamps would work for smaller jobs. Like the included extension option.

This is a great for fast accurate and long straight cuts. The one thing that could be improved is the assembly instructions, it took me a while to figure out how it went together.
