This little level is a great addition to my tool bag. As soon as I picked it up I could tell it was a quality product. The metal body gives it a nice weight and although it’s just a level it has a lot of nice little features such as magnets along once side, a V groove along the other side (for placing on pipes, etc) and more. The size is perfect as well, long enough to work properly in many applications but small enough to fit in a tool bag.

Good quality for use by do it yourselfer.and easy to use Lightweight but not real durable for use in construction area where damage can easily occur. Good for use only on short runs of pipe or indoors on pictures and furniture when installing because of be only 6 inches in length. Would recommend mainly for the person wh does minor projects abound the home.

This is a great torpedo level. The magnets hold well and the ruler grove is nice and deep. It reads easy with the addition of the extra lines which makes sure you are level and true. It is probably the heaviest torpedo level I have owned. With that said, it will probably be the most durable torpedo level I own. The expression they don’t make things like they used to, may apply to this. An added bonus is it is MADE IN USA

The level is excellent. It is a small level and fits nicely in a tool bag. The markings are very clear and the bubble indicators are very precise. The bubbles are at 45 and square plumb, level and a graduated scale in the level indicator. The side has 3 strong rare earth magnetics that should last. They are solid chromed and inset that is effective and will survive in a tool box with sharp tools. The magnetic grip is good in the quick testing that I have done. The opposite narrow edge has a groove to fit a ruler/straight edge. There is a groove for pipe or cylindrical lines. mark. The web site says Vari-Pitch vial reads slope but the level is only 10 inches long. Seems like a forgotten element.

high quality tool. Strong magnets help when working with metal materials, or simply for convenient storage on the side of your tool chest. sturdy piece feels like it will outlast many other tools I have. A man can never have too many levels. I only wish they made a larger model with the enough magnets to hold itself upside down. Specific need. But this item is great.

The Empire True Blue 10 in. Rare Earth Magnetic Torpedo with Dual Vari-Pitch is an accurate, durable, reliable, high-quality, compact level for setting pitch, 45 degree angles, or for level. The levels three magnets provide excellent grip on metallic surfaces, and on the flip side, the V shaped groove along its length stabilizes the level on arced surfaces. I love Empire products, and own several different lengths of their box levels. The levels measure in sized from 10 to 72 inches long, and have superb leveling accuracy with tolerance to +/-.0005″. When you expect nothing but the best, choose an Empire. Made in USA!

Finally spent some time using my 10″ Empire True Blue Torpedo Level. I have several levels (from 6′ down to a 4″ box pocket size as well as a tripod mount laser version) but the torpedo versions 8″ to 12″ tool bag sizes get the most use by far. This is my first Empire level and I really like it. The size is perfect for my tool bag, it seems pretty bullet proof and the rare-earth magnets are quite a bit stronger than the traditional ferite magnets built into a 9″ craftsman aluminum I beam level I have. While the variable pitch feature is a little over the top for a small level the built in ruler groove is a great idea. My other levels have a “v” notch machined into the top of the level to facilitate balancing the level on top of a pipe. Empire has gone a step better because the straight edge groove allows for easy use of a 24″ or even 36″ metal ruler as well as top of pipe use. This thing is well designed and tough enough to withstand being banged around in a tool bag.
