Mine creaks when handling it, and sounded like the plastic casing of the horizontal bubble is rubbing on the inside of the box beam. There is definitely some flex to the box section, however, it’s not affecting the accuracy of the level. The rubberized end bumpers are very nice. Overall it’s a decent level for the price, but anything longer than 24″, I would go with something more sturdy.
